Make a material object dissolve when player is close to it with a certain score?

I'm working on a level where you can earn an extra prize if you have at least a certain number of points by the end of it, and I'm having problems. What I did was block the top, sides, and back around the prize with dark matter, leaving only the front open. I want to put a separate material block there that will only go away when the player approaches a target radius, and if the player has a certain score, but I can't figure out how to make anything besides Sackbots and enemies with brains dissolve. You could use the dissolve material to block the opening and put a microchip on it. Inside you need a player sensor and a score sensor. Customize them to your desired score and trigger radius, then put those outputs into an AND gate. Put the AND gate's output into the dissolve material doorway. What kind of sensor dissolves something? Well.. actually none! A sensor simply reacts to an event and creates a signal such as a player when using a player sensor, or grabbing when using a grab switch. What you connect the sensor to is what makes the difference. So connecting it to a destroyer on a block will make it go away. You could also use dissolve material as the block and simply connect the sensor to that block, but you get more interesting options with a destroyer as well as being able to do it with any material or object. | 2011-01-26 20:27:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
