Level links and dying

If I have a level, and it links to a sub-level (a level that cannot be entered directly) and the player dies and has to replay the level, is there a way to not force them to re-start at the first level in the chain?2011-01-26 16:54:00

Unfortunately not. Here are some possible solutions, however.

a) Make sure they can't get completely stuck, and provide infinite life checkpoints.
b) Make the second level a normal level, rather than sub-level (you can still link them) but lock the second one, providing the key in the first level.
c) Give the player a sticker at the beginning of the sub-level which activates a switch in the first level revealing the level link right at the beginning.

I have listed them in the order that I'd recommend them
