Rewind issue in LBP2...

Something that is driving me crazy about rewind in LBP2 create mode is that it resets the cursor location memory of the popit sub-menus. Let's say you slogged through the billions of collected stickers to find the one you want. Place the sticker and then decide it's not positioned or sized exactly right, so you rewind. Now go into the sticker popit sub-menu to reselect the sticker, uh oh, you're at the top sticker category, happy hunting! * Yes, I realize I could do things differently, heart materials, choose from used materials, etc. but that changes the way I'm used to working and I apparently have gotten into the habit of doing the above sequence A LOT since sticker placement in particular is so fiddly. This change in behavior sure seems like a bug? Also speaking of stickers...I really miss the dot at the sticker "origin" during placement...wonder why that was removed...it was really helpful to know which surface the sticker would get applied to?!? | 2011-01-26 15:00:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
i think the star icon thing has objects that u have used in the past (correct me if im wrong) | 2011-01-26 15:21:00 Author: sonofbrave Posts: 107 |
It used to do this in LBP1 as well. :/ I think using the sticker tool to delete the sticker instead of rewinding keeps the sticker you last used highlighted in the sub-menu so you can quickly get back to it. I'm not sure if it still works though. Worth a shot. And yeah, I miss that center dot too. | 2011-01-26 15:30:00 Author: GreyMRP Posts: 588 |
i think the star icon thing has objects that u have used in the past (correct me if im wrong) Yes, I believe so...I haven't used create enough at this point to verify that this is actually a recently used vs. used in the level list...but it's what I'm trying to train myself to go to. There are also times that I want to go back into a sub-menu to choose a nearby/related sticker, material, or object after an undo...so I think I'll still miss the old behavior. It used to do this in LBP1 as well. :/ I think using the sticker tool to delete the sticker instead of rewinding keeps the sticker you last used highlighted in the sub-menu so you can quickly get back to it. Yup, the remove sticker tool doesn't affect cusor memory...but that can sometimes require surgical precision. It involves picking another tool...rewind I didn't have to think about and was instaneous. I guess I create stuff by trial and error because I find myself rewinding constantly. My experience with LBP1 is that it usually remembered where I was last (sometimes it didn't) but 99% of the time it did... | 2011-01-26 15:32:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
Just hide the drop down menus until you can get to the section your sticker is in. Fun fact: When popit is open in a menu, click L3 (the left joystick) to make a FullScreen Popit. | 2011-01-26 16:38:00 Author: .jamo Posts: 172 |
Yeah, there are a freakin' LOT of stickers. I found out by accident you can use L2 and R2 to do a Page Down/Page Up scroll in the Popit menu. It does have a little trouble keeping up, though. After a little while, I'm sure you'd start to remember how many clicks it takes to get to a certain category. I do sort of wish they would lay out the stickers on a couple of lateral pages, like the costumes, to make it a little more manageable. | 2011-01-26 19:39:00 Author: Bercilak Posts: 117 |
Another problem I had with rewind is that it doesn't remember where the cursor was last located. It gets annoying to close the popit and open it again JUST to get it on screen with your sackboy. | 2011-01-26 22:28:00 Author: Green-Tomato Posts: 140 |
Something I was wondering....is anyone having problems with saving their lvl? On two occasions I've saved my lvl and opened it later to find that my progress wasn't saved.....: I didn't want to make an entirely new thread so...yeah :3 | 2011-01-26 23:57:00 Author: Amigps Posts: 564 |
