How to hide Sackboy entering level/player controlled Sackbot?

I've got my Sackbot character set up. Camera tracks it, the controlinator is invisible... Only problem is the sounds and visuals of Sackboy entering the level, then entering the controlinator. I wish to hide those so the only character seen is the Sackbot actor. As I have it right now there is the brief glimpse of the starting entrance then Sackboy looks to be possessing my Sackbot... Any advice on how I hide Sackboy and the entrance from the player's notice? | 2011-01-26 14:14:00 Author: Unknown User |
Hopefully someone has something more elegant than my approach. I put a thin layer of rubber attached to a 0.1 second piston that blocks the front of the checkpoint. I set up a sequencer that is two stripes long, and set a global lighting tweaker to turn the lights on starting at 1 second. I also place a battery that triggers the piston to pull the rubber out of the way of the checkpoint at 3/4 second. The sequencer is triggered by a perm switch. Before I enter play mode, I pause, turn the perm switch to ON and set the level to dark. When you play you just see the screen start black and the lights come on. If you want to get really fancy, you can set a movie camera to show a cut scene far enough away that the checkpoint wouldn't be in the normal audio hearing range. Use the global lighting options to make the stage completely dark, plus something to cover the checkpoint at the start of the level (since it emits light). Use the global audio options to mute world sounds. Then, time Global Lighting and Sound tweaker objects to return the game back to the sound and lighting settings you want when the view changes to the sackbot. | 2011-01-26 17:16:00 Author: EliminatorZigma Posts: 173 |
