How would I do this...?

So anyway's, I had an id ea for a level where you control sackbot via remote DCS. When you're the sackbot, you also have a little army of other sackbots that will follow your command. I want it so that if I press triangle while in the DCS, it will cause the sackbots to do something. Example: Triangle-attack command, Xbutton- move foreward, Square button- defend(I'll figure out how this works exactly) and Obutton-move backwards How do i make it so that each button makes sackbots do something else? Do i record my actions for them first so they can follow it when I press a button? | 2011-01-26 10:53:00 Author: dragonember Posts: 607 |
Inside the sackbot leader's logic board where the controlinator is you can put X and O to a direction combiner and put the output to the left analog stick inputs of your sackbot army. Make sure that X is in the + side and O is in the - side (I think) so they move in the right direction. I'm not sure yet about attack and defend, I'll think about it a bit and see if I come up with anything. | 2011-01-26 12:40:00 Author: Bio-Raiden Posts: 12 |
What you could is put a tag on your sackbot that is hooked up to the triangle button on the controllinator then make a tag senser on the sackbots micro chip that is hooked up to what ever their atk. So when you press triangle the sackbots atk, | 2011-01-26 14:50:00 Author: Unknown User |
You need to have five different sackbot brains on each microchip with a remote controlinator hooked up to control them using the buttons make sure it's set to override the sackbot's controls and record on action into four of the brains and the fifth one will be the idle action. | 2011-01-26 15:08:00 Author: TheSwede Posts: 59 |
Yeah, but I want it so that when I just press the button, not hold it. Like a one-shot mechanism. | 2011-01-26 20:28:00 Author: dragonember Posts: 607 |

A toggle with a reset timer perhaps? | 2011-01-27 00:14:00 Author: dragonember Posts: 607 |
I'd be more inclined to use a sequencer tbh. That way a single tap of the button will make them do something, or change their behaviour in the desired way, and they'll keep doing that until... well, until you tell them to do something else. | 2011-01-27 00:36:00 Author: standby250 Posts: 1113 |
That's not what i want to happen though. for example, If i pressed triangle (walk foreword) I only want them to walk for only a few seconds, then stop and wait for my next command. If i press x) attack) I only wan them to attack once, and wait for my next command. Get it? | 2011-01-27 00:38:00 Author: dragonember Posts: 607 |
