Race gate + Sackbots don't Mix.

I have had many a friend call me and ask for assistance in making sackbots set off a race gate, I haven't been able to help.. Is there any way to do this? I myself really need this for a level, I am casting all four players as Runners (Mirrors Edge) Through the (magic of) controllinator and Sackbots.

The start gate, however, will not react to Sackbots and I cannot start the level.

In short HELP!

Can you wire into race gates now? If you can then it's a case of detecting number of active sackbots (total) and number of sackbots in the trigger area. If they match then you can trigger the gate.

Alternatively, if your players are on invisible controlinators following their sackbot then you shouldn't have to worry about this, I would assume that players in controlinators can trigger race gates. If not, then a require all player sensor , wired into the race gate would work most likely.

I've placed 4 controllinaters that transmit to the sackbots microchip and have the controls set up so that the sackbot responds to the players input and moves as it is told to.

Hang on, I'll do some experimenting.

when the sackbots reach a certain point, emit a race gate on the players controlling the sackbots(use tag sensors)
then same thing with the finish line

with all of these little things that dont work for sackbots (they add up), it almost seems like they never even considered player controlled sackbots.
or they considered it, added the option, and didnt put any more thought into it than that.

some kind of "counts as player when controlled" option would be awesome.

I agree, Mm should add something of the like. I have figured a way to get the race gate to open, but i have a "grab XXXX to see hi scores" thing before that. ill post some pics of my setup in my next message.

Or better yet, do away with silly race gates and exits, and just give us a race switch, one starts race one ends race, when starting race we can set how long it is, just like the race gate without all the visible issues, for example, a race gate really sticks out like a sore thumb in a futuristic level :x

If MMM did this we'd be able to make our own race gate systems, which would look way crisper and fit into the levels better.

I agree with this, except still keep the gates for those who want to use them, and have a race start switch, and race finish switch.
