Because every single time I try to join to anyone elses game instead of "Play on my own", people always reject it, or don't answer. So why do any of these people play online? I'v probably played about 45-50 times total in story levels, like replaying them. And every time, people just deny other people joining. They either set it to "Auto no join" or just deny it. Then it kicks me back to the menu and wastes my time *Facepalm*. Anyone else get these issues? I'd LOVE to play this with people... but no one ever efflin lets you join!

Here's the thing...I ALWAYS choose to play story mode 'on my own' but sometimes, I get people trying to join me (WTH?!). I don't know why, but it's happening, perhaps to other people as well. This also tends to happen conveniently when I'm trying to, say, do a level without dying. So naturally, yes, I'm going to reject. Also, I'm a bit leery toward the online at the moment. Sometimes it's fine, other times it freezes my system and forces me to hard reset. So until the server/what have you stops being so sketchy, I'm trying to avoid playing with others like the plague.

From what I recall, didn't LBP originally have it where you picked, before it joined the server, if you wanted to play with other people or play alone, which was only alone? I completely agree. The 'choosing before play' thing was much simpler and it actually worked. The silly message "join us" or "play on my own" thing does pop up, and there's a box you can check to "do this every time I play" but that stupid thing has asked me to recheck that box about 10 separate times. I don't know. I've even tried messing with the settings in the start menu and I've still got people randomly trying to join me when I'm supposed to be 'playing on my own'.

Ninja - you can set your preferences in the settings page, but you need to remember to tick the box/option saying "remember this for next time I play". Otherwise it reverts back to normal next time you load the game, because it thinks those settings only applied to that one gaming session. As for why people play online? Well, because LBP signs you in automatically, and it's a lot of hassle to sign out every time you want to play alone. You also can't access the online levels unless signed in and let's face it - We're not going to sign in and out 20x in one session. But yes, is annoying.

I guess my settings menu thinks I should be constantly hard resetting my PS3.

I play story mode online so I can get messages from my friends or to see if anyone else on my friends list comes online. They should have LBP2 like LBP1 though, how others couldn't even join you at all if you selected play by yourself.

I usually have to pick "Play on my own" though, so it gets boring.

Of course since I mentioned it next time my PS3 will explode and summon forth demons from hell to enslave mankind. Mostly Christians cause demons love irony.

I don't understand why people are so hardcore about this game. *facepalm* I'm not exactly sure why that makes me so "hardcore", but I'm not. I just want to play by myself... not hardcore at all... I can't speak for everyone else, but I am not a fan of multiplayer games. Any of them. I'm just not. I'm surrounded by people all day long, so when I get home, I just want to relax and unwind by myself. I do not want my fun to be dependant upon others. I don't want other players trying to kill me as I play. I get myself killed enough times, I don't need yet another source of death deliberate or accidental. I don't want to put up with rude insults because I'm a bad player. I want to take my time. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, I'm better and happier playing solo.
