What happened to the level templates that were available in LBP1? You know, the one's you got as prizes in story mode that you could create a level on rather than starting from a blank template? All I see in LBP2 are backgrounds, not actual templates. I can't find any information on this anywhere- it's driving me nuts! Please respond!

You know....I didn't even notice that feature was gone. But now that you mention it, I would venture a guess that they eliminated it considering you don't have to choose any more when you enter create mode. Not sure if there's a way to bring it back. Sorry I'm not of more help

I'm not yet familiar w/ LBP2's publishing relationship to the first game's but if my theory is correct you might be able to go back into LBP1 (as in insert the disk) and place the template in a blank on your moon. From there go back to LBP2 (switch disks) and have it there. Then again, I don't know if you can re-update your existing LBP2 profile data. Keep in mind this is all merely speculation but its worth a try! (Keep me posted as I'm interested to know if its a possibility.) Cheers! -NOface

I tried that too and it didn't work. I had a many levels that I was working on for an epic story and now almost all of each level is missing. I did make major changes to the templates but I'm not that great of an artist so the level templates were a boon for me in creating. I've almost gotten to the point in LBP2 that it has turned me off from creating which is why I got the game in the first place. I haven't found much help from the community either so that is another point in disfavor of. I think they need to bring back the old style of creating with all the new gadgets.

what if you loaded up LBP1, then published the level locked and copyable. Could you then redownload it from LBP2? What if someone else downloaded it then republished it for you to download? If either of those work, you could probably just publish the bare bones template and do the same.

yes, but i thought you can only upload lbp1 info once... plus (i know i'm being a hypocrite for using the word noob in a bad way but) templates are for noobs with no imagination. I do think you have imagination if you want the templates to mess around with.
