Noisey Door, How do I even do this...

Archive: 8 posts

Okay seriously. I've been trying to figure this out for days now. With no luck. I've even asked this site for help (None obtained).

I have a gate, that activates, by hitting a switch, connected to a counter. The gate opens. But no sound.

I want a certain sound, to begin playing, when the door starts to open. And I want the sound to STOP when it FINISHES opening.

Cannot seem to find a way to make this work. I could -really- use some help here.

Hook up the input to the door to a timer with 0.1 set as the time. Loop the timer's output to it's Reset option, then to the noise.

Unless, this will just create a spamming of inaduible noises.

I bet there's a more efficient way to do this, but here's one way:

Create a timer with the same time as the time it takes for the door to open, and hook it up to the sound. Trigger it with the door opening.

If the door is opening vertically: You can put a inverted tag sensor on the door and place 2 tags where the tag sensor will be when the door is open and closed, (you can hide the door *L2* and place the keys behind it, or you can place the tag on invisible holographic in front of the door) then connect the tag sensor to the sound. This will only work if the sound is a looping sound (if it has a * at the end of it.) the way it works is when the door is shut the tag sensor is turned off because there is a tag on top of it. Then when the door is opening it will move away from that tag and the tag sensor will turn on. Then when it gets to the other tag, witch should be at the same time the door stops opening the tag sensor will turn off. I hope that makes as much sense to you as it did to me in my head!2011-01-25 21:35:00

Tried that. Isn't working.

This is exactly how I do the sound effects on my doors. Works really well.

Yup, this is the way right here. Works like a charm.

Did you make it count down instead of up?
