Movement on a grid

I have run into several instances where I need an object to be fit to a grid (I know about the built in grid I use it all the time! but that is not what I need) for example checkers or chess or any other grid based game. Can anyone tell me the speed a mover has to move an object and for how long to move it one small, medium, and large grid unit? An example would be (I could be wrong) sackboy's dealt jump height would be a speed of 4 for .5 seconds. I hope you understand.2011-01-25 19:49:00

I'm suggesting the use of followers. Place an emitter on the object and make it emit a tag on the grid. Set the object's follower to move there very fast (not too fast) and it should work.

If my memory serves me correctly, a speed of 1 unit in a second goes over a small block. Don't count on this...
