http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/6a98e25b22f5754762521e6a265d4a474c0abd1b.jpg First things first - if you've not played the original Clockworx, here's the thread: Link (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=15596-Clockworx-%28Survival-Challenge%29) Now, the important thing I should mention is that this level is NOT the same. In the first one most of the fun came from quickly bouncing all over the place to get combos, whereas this one is much more about precision and skill. And it's harder. I don't believe there's any point in making the same thing twice. Happily the first Clockworx is one of my two LBP1 levels that still works in LBP2, so if you're looking for an experience the same then go and play that one. Right then, so... Clockworx 2. The basic idea and theme is the same - there are 23 bounce pads in a circle, which spin faster and faster. Every so often a bounce pad will explode, leaving a gap which you have to jump over. The longer you survive, the faster it spins and there more gaps there'll be, until eventually things become frantic and crazy. There's a big element of luck involved (more so than the first one), but every time you play the experiencewill be completely different. http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/11932cff91cb046b575e7ae1bb15da1c721c6c7a.jpg Features Bounce pads! You'll get 10 points for each one you hit. Burning bounce pads! These are on fire and should be avoided. Exploding bounce pads! These will flash red and then explode, creating the gaps you'll also have to avoid. Green bounce pads! There'll be one lit up at a time. Bounce on on it and you'll get 50 points instead of 10, and then it'll move somewhere else. The key to getting a high score is to aim for these whenever you can. Blue bounce pads! These are quite rare, but if you see one, bounce on it and you'll get a 15 second power-up. There are three in total: Double Points - Gives you twice as many points for each bounce pad hit. So normal ones will give you 20 and green ones will give you 100. Slow Motion - Slows down time. Frenzy - You have to see this one in action to fully understand it. Basically - lots of green bounce pads will light up. A menu! Jump straight into the action, view a quick tutorial on how to play, or view the hi-scores. http://i0.lbp.me/img/ft/5c040617a8e9f0b4d436c78f345a7b8bb6e50923.jpg Hints & Tips Bouncing from side to side will get you points quicker than bouncing up and down in the same spot. No bounce pad will explode whilst a power-up is active, so hit the blue bounce pads as soon as you can. Slow motion will freeze the timer, so it won't get any faster whilst it's active. Remember that fire won't kill you on first impact. If it's a choice between electric floor and burning bounce pad, go for the bounce pad. When double points is active go for the green bounce pads. You'll get a LOT of points. http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/43998bb99cfec2b10de6c2b0b9ea499ad3b815a3.jpg Known Issues Multiplayer not working. Only two players seem to spawn, and sometimes nobody gets menu control. I'm working to fix this asap. EDIT: I think I've fixed the spawning issue, but please let me know if you have any problems with multiplayer! Bounce pads not always giving points. Not sure why this is, hit them in the center and you shoud get it. Getting points after dying. This doesn't always happen but it's because I use a player sensor to give points. Annoyingly an impact sensor doesn't always register a hit. Double exploding bounce pads. Maybe this was intentional, maybe it was a bug that I left in because it made things more interesting. But watch out for it! Green bounce pads may take a while changing location and flicker a bit. This is due to the extreme mess of logic I've used. The important thing is that there will always be a green bounce pad at any given time. http://ia.lbp.me/img/ft/0aa0b4c06e827a9dcfb340a4d95858adc179f901.jpg Right, I think I'd better end this post now. It's a bit long and since I started writing it the level has been Mm picked and has over 1,000 plays, which is rather crazy and unexpected. I also need to go and reclaim the high score, when testing the level my best was about 2,500, but I'm sure over 3,000 is possible. Anyway, I'd really appreicate if you could check it out, give it a play or two, and of course feedback is always welcome. http://i4.lbp.me/img/ft/594ed820545b7c7c67e150a3f645c107a6928a51.jpg http://lbp.me/v/w0y-dr | 2011-01-25 16:48:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |
I actually just saw this in Mm picks and am loving it! According to LBP.me I've played it 8 times already, it's that fun. | 2011-01-25 16:53:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |

Very good. I want to see it in create mode once the loading bug patch hits. | 2011-01-25 17:08:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |
A very nice "taking it to LBP 2" level. I had not played Clockworx but I did after playing Clockworx 2. I am impressed with where you took it. I bet you had a smile on your face when updating the concept with the LBP 2 tools so well. Great Job! | 2011-01-25 17:31:00 Author: EinRobot Posts: 739 |
Looks really good, adding it to my Q | 2011-01-25 18:04:00 Author: Unknown User |

It's been a crazy day so far... Mm picked, 38,000 plays and number 1 on trending and cool pages! Didn't expect that. I just choked on my food out of excitement. How does that make you feel? :c Queue'd! Can't wait! Pleased yet slightly disgusted. Very good. I want to see it in create mode once the loading bug patch hits. Certainly. It's a bit messy though, there's circuit boards and random bits of logic all over the place. A very nice "taking it to LBP 2" level. I had not played Clockworx but I did after playing Clockworx 2. I am impressed with where you took it. I bet you had a smile on your face when updating the concept with the LBP 2 tools so well. Great Job! Thanks. I've been planning this level ever since LBP2 was announced, and it's been great fun to finally be able to make it. | 2011-01-26 00:02:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |
This is a great level. So simple and yet so hard and quite addictive. | 2011-01-26 00:54:00 Author: cthulhu82 Posts: 211 |
awesome, awesome! once I was in the top 3 but then ten thousands of people suddenly played it well deserved MM Pick and well converted remake! How long did it take to build? Of course Smiled (do we say that now?) and Hearted | 2011-01-26 01:11:00 Author: TOBSn08 Posts: 143 |
Queue'd for later. :3 Congrats on the Mm Pick too Nuclear! From your past levels, you certainly deserve it. | 2011-01-26 01:20:00 Author: AeroForce22 Posts: 392 |
I'm being tempted to get this game right now because of this! Renting, if not buying it... | 2011-01-26 02:07:00 Author: OcamposMoon Posts: 135 |
This level is as addictive as tetris! Great work! It's my favourite survival challenge of all time. Almost got a hi-score in it... | 2011-01-26 05:40:00 Author: FreeAim Posts: 2462 |
You have created the best minigame I have ever seen! Great Job, this level is really edicting and I spent about an hour trying to get a high score with no luck, Levels like these really show whats possible in LBP2. I didn't play the first one so I didn't no what to expect, but all I can say it was awesome great work. And a Mm pick, I'm jealous Congrats, keep those levels coming. | 2011-01-26 05:49:00 Author: nillrecuring Posts: 104 |
This level is awesome! The visuals are amazing, I love the menu and the game itself is really fun. Congrats on Mm Pick! This will hopefully get a spotlight for your efforts too.... You're pretty much the LBP1 and 2 MASTER OF MINIGAMES! Seriously, well done lad. :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3. And a and another queue and WHATEVER! | 2011-01-26 06:55:00 Author: mutant_red_peas Posts: 516 |
One of the rare survival levels from LBP1 that I actually enjoyed! Queued! | 2011-01-26 07:54:00 Author: blizzard_cool Posts: 752 |
You know, you really should reward people for bouncing on the flashing red bounce pads. Give e'm 75 points or something. Dare them to be dangerous!! | 2011-01-27 23:03:00 Author: dr_murk Posts: 239 |
Love it; too bad I can't stay alive for more than 2 minutes. XD | 2011-01-28 01:22:00 Author: jEpiik Posts: 81 |

Well the guy who obviously listens to my rambling. But seriously I think that this could be a good idea. | 2011-01-28 06:55:00 Author: blizzard_cool Posts: 752 |
Hey can I ask what sort of logic you used for the main menu of the level? Someone I know has been trying to do it, so i thought I'd help him out and try some and I'm realizing now that movie camera's are kinda annoying to work with if you don't quite understand them, did you use gameplay cameras for the main menu that switch to movie camera's for the like help section and stuff? Any help/pointers you could give could be nice. You can send it in a message, or respond in here or what ever. Please and thank you. | 2011-01-28 16:55:00 Author: LukeCF Posts: 790 |
How long did it take to build? Started it last Friday night, finished it Tuesday afternoon. But I got the 24 hours in create mode trophy after I published it. I could have got it finished a lot sooner had I not spend so many hour having fun playtesting it. You know, you really should reward people for bouncing on the flashing red bounce pads. Give e'm 75 points or something. Dare them to be dangerous!! I did think of doing that. But the logic now is so confusing I'm scared to change anything. All 19 bounce pads have their own microchip full of logic, and I'd need to edit all of them individually to change anything. It's a good idea but I'm going to keep things as they are from now on and remember to make my logic a bit tidier in my next level. Basically, the left stick is plugged into a selector which cycles through the menu options. When selector output 1 ("Start Bouncing" is selected AND x is pressed, an action happens (in this case the game begins). For the entire menu I used movie cameras. They are indeed a pain to work with. I think I had one connected from a battery at the start looking at the main menu. Then when you select the tutorial a sequencer starts playing with the cutscenes. When it's finished the first camera is activated again through an OR gate. Then when the game starts I did something (can't remember what) to turn the movie camera off and activate a game camera. | 2011-01-28 20:35:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |
I played this a few days ago so you may have fixed it I dunno, but just wondering, is the 'bonus spot' connected to a randomizer? Because my bonus spot always seemed to start in the same place, which was unattainable till the circle like completely flipped over, and it was just bothering me :/ | 2011-01-29 05:37:00 Author: LukeCF Posts: 790 |
I had fun. The menu/tutorial are perfect, and the bonuses looked awesome. Loved that green one that spun around with the music change. Very stylish. Looks like I suck at it though. | 2011-01-29 06:21:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |

If it started in the same place you must have just been unlucky. Sometimes it does start at the bottom. | 2011-01-29 14:10:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |
This looks like a must play! I will try to play it as soon as i can. | 2011-01-29 14:13:00 Author: Pattington_Bear Posts: 777 |
One of the best LBP minigames I've played so far (and I think one of my first in LBP2 )! I like the menu, but I also like how it slowly spins faster and faster. It keeps on getting more difficult. Great Game! | 2011-01-29 14:17:00 Author: iArekusu Posts: 402 |

Hmmm, yeah I was trying roughly the same thing, I was just having trouble with movie camera's turning off and back on. I'll mess around with it some more later, thank you very much. | 2011-01-29 17:04:00 Author: LukeCF Posts: 790 |
congrats on getting a MM pick, very fun level | 2011-01-30 03:59:00 Author: Unknown User |
This is a wicked level. Nice risk-reward balance here. I can't last more than a couple of minutes, though . . . How did you do the slowdown? I thought at first you just had a switch that triggered low gravity, but the jump height is the same. | 2011-01-30 04:19:00 Author: Bercilak Posts: 117 |
Really fun really well made level! I really like the way you got the menu to work, great touch! | 2011-01-30 07:19:00 Author: SackRacer77 Posts: 153 |
Dude this level is awsome ive been playing it for a while then i came up with a level idea xD The level is called jump jump go its obviously not as good as this. I love this Level or "Game" | 2011-01-30 07:44:00 Author: DesignedJ Posts: 57 |
How did you do the slowdown? I thought at first you just had a switch that triggered low gravity, but the jump height is the same. That's exactly what it is, low gravity. Bounce pads will always bounce you to the height you select, no matter what the gravity. | 2011-01-30 14:17:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |
Impressive level. It's like the first one back in LBP1. VISUALS: The concept of this level looks amazing and the clock animation is a nice touch too. SOUND: The movement sounds worked well. Also I liked it on how the music changes when you slow down the clock. GAMEPLAY: The usage of the bouncing pads, score giver, and hazard changer is great, and the obstacles are a blast. OVERALL: An outstanding survival challenge with brilliant gameplay. A 'Yeah' vote and a heart. | 2011-01-30 19:14:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
Loved your level! Here's my thoughts: Gameplay: :star::star::star::star::star: Perfectly executed. Everything feels as it should and I noticed absolutely no problems. The power-ups are very interesting changes to the pace. I especially like slowing time. Aesthetics: :star::star::star::star::star: Beautiful level that fits its theme perfectly. Concept: :star::star::star::star::star: Original, brilliant concept. Nothing left to add haha. Overall: :star::star::star::star::star: Absolutely brilliant. Great concept coupled with great execution equals one happy BassDeluxe! I gave it /<3 | 2011-01-31 03:23:00 Author: BassDeluxe Posts: 984 |
I restarted it five times, and every time the green bounce pad started in the same place... The place it always starts in with me... | 2011-01-31 22:04:00 Author: LukeCF Posts: 790 |
