Magic mouths & cameras

Hey, another question here. What I want is a Sackbot to talk, but the camera not facing the Sackbot. He will be talking about a certain object - so I want the camera pan from the Sackbot to the object, and have the speech bubble on screen while you can see the object.

I have tried adding a movie camera and linking that to the magic mouth, but all that does is one after another. It shows the object, then looks back at the Sackbot saying his line.

I've also tried just having a magic mouth with a camera angle in the tweak settings, but then I don't get the all important panning shot.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a sequencer maybe? I've never used it so I'm kind of reluctant to.

Wow 4 weeks and no response I found this while searching for a question I have. Anyway, I have little to no sackbot experience (yet) but I can say that I would use the movie camera and the magic mouths separately. I wouldn't use the camera that's in the magic mouth. Just activate the movie camera and the magic mouth at the same time. If timing is critical you could use a sequencer. Don't be afraid of those.. they're actually quite helpful.

I hope you've figured it out by now, but if not I hope this helped, or at least pointed you in the right direction.

Couldn't you just place the magic mouth in the scene where you want it to appear instead of on the sackbot's MC? If not, you could always put the magic mouth on a sequencer, set it to subtitles and get rid of the speech bubble altogether. If the first part of the dialog come from a speech bubble coming from your sackbot and then continued in subtitles while the cam is on the object,people would get that it's still the sackbot thats meant to be talking.2011-02-23 17:55:00
