Rock Band ftw.

God of War ftw.

Ninja Gaiden ftw.

Devil May Cry ftw.

Guitar Hero ftw.

Heavenly Sword(I guess) ftw.

Everybody discuss your favorite game that requires alot of button pressing.

i'm gonna have to disagree that gaiden is a button masher. if you don't know what you're doing you will NOT make it through that game. same goes for guitar hero.

but to be constructive:

streets of rage
golden axe

... that's all you need

Soul calibur 4 gimped button mashing luckily.

DEFINITELY the gauntlet series + dynasty warriors, spam one button as fast as you can = the whole game. And I go against Devil May Cry being button mashy, only 2 which was a total disaster and shames the series. I dare you to beat any of them on the hardest difficulty button mashing.

Also, on the guitar games, button mashing will get you a very quick fail, you need to be a lot more coordinated than that.

I definatly wouldn't say rock band and guitar hero are button mashers. You'll never win on hard by button mashing, even on any other difficulty.
Tekken is just a button masher at it's best. So are all the Super Smash Bros.

The ultimate one that springs to mind for me was 2 player Street Fight II

When 2 friends were going at it and they didn't really know what they're doing it was who could smash as many buttons as they could and wiggle the stick about in the hope of a special coming out every now and then lol The good old days

That's why I originally said for 2 friends that don't know what they are doing

And when you get people that know what they're doing it changes into a non-button basing game. But for beginners it most definitely is BB
