Come back elevator!

Archive: 5 posts

Hey, just a quick question...

I'm just starting out on my first level and the entrance to the level in on a platform at the bottom next to a lift thats meant to take you to the top of the mountain.

Now the lift works fine, switch to make it go up and down work fine and the door at the top opens fine... only problem is I can't get the lifts starting position to be at the bottom of the level lol. It comes down eventually, but I want it to be right at the bottom from the start so the player can just jump in and go up.

Very confused as to how I set the bottom as its starting position, could someone tell me how please?

umm go to create mode and w8 for the elevator to go down by its own then save the level
(hopefully this doesnt mess up anything else in your level if u leave it in play mode)

As far as elevators go, if you want it to truly work properly (like if you fall off, it comes back and it also stops at levels) you should look up how to make proper logic circuits for elevators. It's somewhat complicated at first, but I HIGHLY suggest learning so your level acts professionally.2011-01-25 15:24:00

Look at the BLP1 logic pack. Yes, it uses the old logic. But updating it to your needs should be easy enough.2011-01-25 15:57:00
