Making and Invisible moving Controlinator Spawn Point?

Well, I got some of the elements of my shooter working (thanks to all of the suggestions folks made on here), but I'm still stuck on something. I'm having trouble making my ship respawn after it's destroyed. Since it's controlled remotely, the camera following it is destroyed when the ship is. So I created a second object with a camera, emitter, and negative tag. So when the ship is destroyed, the tag on the ship triggers the emitter on the other object to emit a new ship (thanks again for this great suggestion). I have a controlinator attached to this object with the same color remote control, so it moves along side the ship, and spits out a new ship when it senses the previous one is destroyed. Problem is that at this point in the game, I don't have any invisible element that has the same gravity as the metal my ship is made of, so if I use a hologram, it floats away, and takes the camera with it (not to mention, since the hologram is flat, whenever my ship collides with something, the camera attached to the hologram keeps going), lol. I tried making the second object almost impossible to see by shrinking it, but there has to be another solution. Still, problem-solving up to this point has been a lot of fun. Im not sure if this was exactly what your wanting but if you put a follower on the hologram and set it to follow a tag on the middle of the ship and set its speed to max it should follow the ship with out any problems | 2011-01-25 14:41:00 Author: Unknown User |
That's actually exactly what I was looking for. The Hologram works great, but it won't keep up with the ship. And since the hologram is the element that keeps the game camera active after the ship is destroyed, it needs to be practically on the ship without being attached to the controlinator on the ship (otherwise the camera goes with the ship and it resets to my sackboy).
