LBP2 conspiracy theory

Archive: 22 posts

The loading bug was a major complaint from the beta and Mm had plenty of opportunity to fix it.

So why didn't they?

My theory is that Mm left the bug there deliberately for this post-launch period. The aim being to keep the community from socialising too much and to encourage creators to spend their time building levels rather than gadding about with friends. I believe that once Mm are satisfied that there are enough community generated levels out there and players have more choice of stuff to keep them occupied, then they will release a patch that gets rid of the bug and allows us to play together again.

Just a theory...

Balancing server load is an incredibly difficult thing to do...
I would suspect that peoples online woes would be more related to server capacities rather than any "grand plan" to keep people from connecting.

I bet the guys on the networks team are doing 24hr shifts right now trying to get the balance right.

Give them time, it'll settle once the traffic/server load settles.

Well, you've convinced me.

If you rewatch the 9/11 tapes, you can clearly see that Building #7 was downed by a Rocket Cheetah

LOL Ungreth, so what's the conspiracy against the Italians?
Is it because of Silvio Berlusconi?
My point is that there's not a conspiracy, but bug testers sucks.

LBP is P2P game, that means for game play you connecting to host console, not LBP server. This is why with one people you got loading screen more often then others. So LBP servers don't have much to do with it i think

Indeed, the cat with blue goggles speaks the truth. There is so no server system to mediate the connections between systems, they're completely direct. Meaning your connection will always take the same route along the internet, as there is no server to choose the best path. Although mediation servers would probably make this issue nonexistant, MM went with P2P for a reason.

Magical colour-changing pants?

Nah. I think he poops his pants. 'Cause he knows about my plan to infiltrate Mm headquarters and replace all the batteries in their electronics with lightly toasted butter biscuits. Then they will reward me with a cake, a magical cake! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!
