Week one was fairly minimal for Americans, with two free costumes. Europeans were (mostly) happy to receive a MotorStorm costume and "Rare Week-1" t-shirt in addition to the free space suit and halloween mask. It doesn't stop there, though, and the Japanese LittleBigPlanet site may have revealed what's on the way this week. As you can see in the image above, Japan will receive a total of five new costumes this week. Don't expect the Toro costume (based on the main character from Mainichisshyo) to come westwards. Though there's no reason why we won't see the chameleon, shark, penguin or gorilla costumes hitting the store before long (who knows, maybe even this week). There's also another free costume listed, based on the winner of the European costume design competition. While it still may be early days, don't be surprised to see weekly downloadable content for LittleBigPlanet. Media Molecule are quick to state in interviews that just because the game is released, they haven't stopped working. We look forward to seeing whatever they choose to release to us and at these prices (Rare t-shirt excluded) we can hardly say no, can we? I'm sorry but I thought that ?4 for a week 1 T shirt was an absolute rip-off, surely it should have been free, or maybe ?1 at the most. I mean we have just shelled out nearly ?50 for the game at full price, then they want another ?4 for recognition you wanted this game when it came out. Meh. TBH I have a problem buying virtual things anyway as they actually have 0 value and don't belong to you anyway. If you look at the Eula everything related to LBP belongs to MM/Sony anyway. It was the same when I played Wow, people would pay hundreds of pounds for a character that remained the property of Blizzard. MADNESS!!

Awesome news! If you happen to have access to the PSN Japanese Store you can already download the Ape Escape costume! However I THINK you need the Japanese version of the game. Stay tuned! *runs off to test it properly* EDIT: Nope, it doesn't work for me. Must have to have the Japanese version *sad*

You need to download content from the same region store as your disc is from. DLC is region locked and will only work with a disc from the same region. Cheers QuozL

You need to pay for most of those. I read it on an english site somewhere. The frog, gorilla and penguins are the only ones I saw though.

I have decided against paying for any DLC for LBP. Even if it means I'm missing out, I'm not buying anything, not even new levels. So here's hoping they release lots of free stuff.

Somewhat of an update concerning this DLC: http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/11/12/lbp-motorstorm-and-animals-costumes-priced-and-dated-for-us/ As we guessed when we saw a similar set of LittleBigPlanet DLC offered to Japan two days ago, the costume of Toro, the main character of Mainich Isshyo, has been left out in the US release. Replacing the feline will be a MotorStormer costume, as seen above. On the left of the MotorStormer is a freebie based on the winning design of the SCEE costume contest, a Sack-Eating Plant. The remaining costumes are the same wildlife ones from the Japanese release, and now they have names: Lilly Pad (chameleon), Hugo (gorilla), Great Blue (shark) and Frost-E (penguin). The animals can be purchased individually for $0.99 each or as a 4-pack for $2.99. The MotorStormer will be $1.99. All of them will make their US debuts tomorrow, November 13th, on the PS Store. Head over to the official LBP blog to check out the rest of the costumes. I have decided against paying for any DLC for LBP. I mean, you say that you're not going to buy any "even if it means [you're] missing out", which sounds to me like you're definitely feeling somewhat enticed. Some advice: give into the temptation!

The cat costume doesn't look all that great, even if it is three. I hope they have more art contest costumes for download in the future. And here's hoping for a "Jak" costume
