Fog Lighting Bug

Archive: 7 posts

It seems like in every one of the levels I try to work in, even new LBP2 levels, they eventually get a bug where the levels' brightness and darkness settings do not effect the background fog color at all and it's getting really annoying. No, I don't have any global setting sensors anywhere. Is anybody else having this problem? 2011-01-25 04:01:00

It happens in the story levels sometimes too. If it bugs you, you can try to report it to Mm but I'm sure they know about it already.2011-01-25 04:19:00

Oh I've figured out that lighting and darkness only effect fog if it is not given a color (fog color setting is all the way to the left). You can't change the brightness of the fog if you want a different color other than the default blueish color. VERY ANNOYING! It wasn't like that in the first game.2011-01-26 18:11:00

There are a LOT of lighting issue - when I set an LED against a material (say rock - but could be anything) and I try to light up the wall - it doesn't work at all. This has made many of my LBP1 levels dark - and they can't be fixed. The only way to light up the "wall" is turn up the "fogginess" - but that doesn't really light up the area very well.

There actually seems to be less lighting options in LBP2.

At this point, I'm unsure what to do - if these are "issues" in LBP2, and they "fix" them - I'm worried that any changes I make to my LBP1 levels may end up needed to be tweaked again.

I wish they'd be more vocal with us and let us know what they think, or if they do know about the lighting - or believe it is an issue at all.

For me, it destroyed most of my LBP2 levels (which are almost all made for darkness.

Has anybody found any decent work arounds to lighting up walls?

You could try creatively placed gassed spots.. or there are those new light bar things. One I found is like a corner piece. So I am hoping there are more. Anyway.. one of the attributes besides the normal color etc, is visibility.2011-01-26 20:36:00

I'm just curious. Does everybody have this issue? Every other fog color other than the first few shades of the default color (just before black) are not effected by the lighting and darkness settings. I'm just curious if reinstalling could fix my problem.

LOL I'm so impatient right now. I want to create!

I think Mm is just rounding up all these and trying to find every single last one of them, then releasing a MASSIVE patch that (hopefully) fixes all known and reported issues.2011-01-29 02:59:00
