SQUID BOSS FINISHED - First Level (search DrNick95 to play)

Archive: 3 posts

Search DrNick95 and play my squid boss level, it's my first level in littlebigplanet 2, please leave some suggestions and I might consider them depending if I know how to incorporate the suggestion with my knowledge of the game. A lot of the logic still confuses me as I haven't used all of them yet so the logic behind this is pretty simple but I still like it, thank god for tutorials :S

You start out killing the suction cups of the squids main tentacle so you have easier access to kill the main tentacle. If you kill all 3 he will summon 2 plasma tentacles from the sky which are also killable. After killing the main tentacle the squid will charge a large tentacle from behind him that shoots 3 plasmas when it reaches a certain distance. Basically just kill the actual squid and if you want it to be easier get rid of all the other tentacles.

Can someone explain how I can disable the main tentacle from being killable until you kill the 3 suction cups first? ? Because certain tentacles only activate once you kill the 3 suction cups and people can cheat it by just killing one suction cup and attacking the main tentacle because logically you only need to kill one to break his barrier... if you understand what I mean.

Thanks to those who play it and I hope you enjoy it, my friend is also making bosses and our PSN's are dedicated mostly to bosses and action levels rather than platformers maybe he'll post his neptune god of water boss later on when it's finished!

Just off the top of my head here: Material Changer control set to indestructible, to make sure dangerous stuff (like explosions) won't kill it. Then, if it is a matter of needing to kill something first before you can kill the tentacle, use logic for that:

- Have a timer on the circuit of your main tentacle. Output of it activates whatever you want (a projectile impact switch? or it disables (NOT switch in between) the Material Changer in case you need to destroy it with area damage).
- Have a battery on each of the other tentacles that need to be killed first. Hook them up to an OR switch on the main tentacle circuit.
- Connect the OR output on the main tentacle circuit to the reset of the timer.

You could set the timer on the main tentacle to a value that allows some building up time before it becomes vulnerable/active after other tentacles die.

Now, this is all theory for me. I haven't actually tried this. I can imagine the batteries being a problem, not resetting the timer. Or perhaps the timer does not start without a kick. Either of those could possibly be fixed with using a pulser (fueled by a battery?) replacing the battery; this is basically a timer set to a low interval that connects its output to its own reset (and the output to whatever you want to stir up).
