Creating a scrolling level with the sequencer.. HOW?

As seen in the level "Caterpillar Climb" in this youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMVJHLqSTtA I love the thought of being able to generate sections of track to be able to play a top down racer in. I searched online, this forum, and numerous others for more details on how to create a scrolling level using the sequencer. Ideally, I would love to be able to make something like SPY Hunter. I've been trying to pull this off with emitters, but I always end up with gaps between my background panels no matter how much I adjust the frequency and velocity. What is the secret to making this work right?
