Hang 'em High - Grapple Race

Archive: 7 posts

My first ever published level - it's a race using the grapple hook. I would greatly appreciate feedback as it is hard to discover what is too hard/too easy when I test it myself, since I know what to do.
If you leave me a comment after playing my level I will gladly play your levels in return - anything to help up and coming creators (hopefully like myself).

-First grapple was hard to see, maybe make it a different color.
-The first part where you're falling and have to grapple to the right, it's impossible to do if you don't anticipate it and still too hard when you can. At least change the camera angle to make it easier.
-The part where the fireballs are falling, change the camera angle to show where the grapple points are, you also cant see the openings where the fire is coming out so the first time at least the player has to blindly jump and grapple, hoping to not go under one of the openings.
-When you grapple to lower yourself down, the walls are too narrow, I died 3 times in a row just trying to get into position.
-When you slide very fast on the ice, again the camera angle needs to let the player know that a grapple is coming up. Even when I know it's there, I still don't know when to jump or when to grapple.
Overall, just needs some polish. It was ambitious and I'm sure you'll do better next time.

This wouldn't happen to be a reference to the aptly titled map from Halo CE with the same name, would it? 2011-01-25 05:44:00

The name comes from the Clint Eastwood western film, I was wondering what to name it and looked around my room to see my dvd and thought 'That would suit it'.

And thank you for the feedback Juggler1711, I will fix these points later on today - admittedly I never thought of changing the camera angle.
