Q's about the controllinator.

Archive: 8 posts

I would like to be able to rotate left and right or frontword and backwords depending on if the controllinator is on the top of side.

but this is what I'm trying to do and it's not working.

advanced rotators - R1

advanced rotators - L1

Advanced mover - Analog left right up down

My problem is it only turns right. R1 will make it turn right but L1 just stops it
I would like to make a button that stops it also but i don't know where to begin.
if anyone can help me understand please.

I also don't understand player sensor/in and out movers.. I can't get one to work

They're probably stupid questions, but i can't figure it out.

(ps. if anyone needs help finding items i have 100%) and 2 controllers for 3 player switches.

For the turning thingymabob, do you just want it to rotate right/clockwise with R1 and left/anticlockwise with L1? If so just feed both outputs from the controllinator into a directional combiner and send that into just one advanced rotator.

Also, what problems are you having with the player sensors and in/out movers, exactly?

The player sensor will detect any player inside the trigger radius,

The In/Out movers only do one way so you need to have 2 one for in one for out,

As for the controllinator issue I'm still trying to work out the intricacies of it.

I'm still a bit confused.

I do understand the controllinator problem now though.

I have this

Block----player sensor--in/out mover

but it won't seem to work.. i'm sorry i can't make a good diagram on text.

Does the block move when the sack gets close to it? You'd need either 2 player sensors 1 normal 1 inverted and two in out movers.2011-01-25 14:36:00

Just as a test, I rewired one of my vehicles to use the l1/r1 inputs instead of the thumbstick and it has the same problem the thumbstick controls did. If you plan on controlling rotation from the controlinator, you may need to set up a rotation 'damper'. The reason is that rotators will not 'halt' a rotation that's already started once you let go of the controls.

I'll try to show my diagram below:

l1/r1 -> direction combiner (r1 goes to first input to make it clockwise) -> advanced rotator
l1/r1 -> or gate (tweak it to make it 'nor&apos -> simple rotator (tweak it to rotation speed '0' and make sure the input action is set to 'on/off'

These two circuits together will let you control rotation with l1/r1 and will stop rotation once you're no longer holding either of those buttons.

This is probably not the issue you are having but I'd figure I post it JUST in case since it happened to me numerous times.
Check where your wire is going to the rotators/movers. For the longest, I was plugging in the UP/DOWN wire from the analog to the ON/OFF on the advanced move instead of the UP/DOWN input. Hope this helps someone.
