Impact Damage/health Bar for my UFO

Allright, I got a UFO working with a Fuel bar, that drains when in air and regenerates when on a platform ^^

But now I made a second bar, and this one is for Health.
So I hooked up a impact sensor a counter and a destroyer.
But I ran across yet an other problem:

With this set up the impact sensor and counter counts all impacts, even the gentle ones(ie when landing)
Is there a way to set it up that only if the UFO crashes into something, the impact sensor and counter will notice that, and ignore the gentle impacts?

You'll have to experiment but if you set up a piece of hollogram with a tag and tweak the strength/acceleration parameters, you should be able to set it up that it "lags" behind the ship when it's moving too quickly. Set this to a tag sensor on your ship, so that if the "following tag" is in range you turn off the impact sensor for hits. In other words, when you move slowly the tag is keeping up, and soft bumps are ignored, if you're moving to quickly, the tag lags behind and you'll register an impact when hit.2011-01-24 17:10:00

Hmmz I get the idea.

But now when i set the impact sensor that it needs a tag, (and so that this tag is on when the sensor is out of range) the impact sensor doesnt count any bumps...

Now whenever the tag gets out of range this counts as a "impact"" eventhough the UFO is not bumping into anything

Little bump,

Don't set the impact sensor to require a tag. Set it as it were. Instead, place an AND gate and connect the output from the impact sensor to the input of this AND gate. The output from a tag sensor (this sensor set to inverted; you don't want to send a signal when the halo tag is close) goes to the other input of the AND gate. Output from the AND gate goes to where the output of the impact sensor was previously going.2011-01-27 19:04:00
