Id really love it if it was possible to cut away just a single layer of a whole 2 or 3 layer section. so i cud add a secret passage for collectables if i wanted. instead of having to make all the layers seperately. grrr

you have to make all three layers separate, or else you'll have objects that exist on 3 different layers on some parts or just 1 on other parts, which would get confusing...

It deletes all 3 because you made them one object. IF you made each layer separate, that wouldn't happen. You can just remake a 2-layer thing where the 3 layer thing was standing.

Nope, it automatically cuts through all three layers...It's a bit annoying at times, but it's there for good reasons. There's always ways to get around it

Make the passage out of individual objects. To hide the seams and keep it secret, you can always cover over with a layer of sponge (or whatever) on the wafer-thin layer at the very front, like a veneer.

i'm not sure it's something that should be patched. it's a bit of a safeguard if you ask me. you can always copy the object, shrink the number of layers it covers, modify it, and glue it to it's counterpart filling out all the layers.
