Outlaw-Jack's BIG 3

Archive: 3 posts

Woo!! Now that we can integrate fully-scripted cutscenes, dynamic characters/events, and further modifications to gameplay structure and design, I can FINALLY bring my BIG 3 ideas I had for LBP1 to their full potential (hopefully before I get too lazy to finish them)! Starting with...

1 (Top Priority :star:

This was gonna be my BIG THING in LBP1, which was gonna be a fly-around sandbox RPG around an imaginary realm of Skye, tucked away in the Himalayas. Of course, with my lack of dedication (which I'm still working on) and basically the limitations of LBP's creative tools, I simply could not integrate the full sandbox-RPG experience that I was aiming for. But NOW, after fully exploring LBP2's versatile (and yet somewhat confusing) tool set, this level(s) is just a MUST-DO on my list. Right now, concepts and experimentations have started on the level, as well as character design and adding in filler to the main storyline. Once I hammer out a thermo-friendly combat system and dynamic enviroment, I'll need some voice-overs and/or actors to aid in breathing life into the characters. If I keep myself dedicated to this and at LEAST get 1-2 buildings/structures done a day, I can get this finished before the year is over.

2 (Remake):
(Unfortunately, I have no photos of this one right now.)

This idea actually became a level (my first one, in fact... extremely cheesy, if I might add xD), albeit a level with a cliffhanger ending and poorly-executed humor. That, and... I never got the story oranized, which is usually my #1 priority. I've always had the idea in my head, and the premise is quite simple to execute (chasing a villain across various styles of story-telling). This would've been really cool, even by LBP1 standards, should I have ever picked up interest on it after I made that first level. I've been scheming to re-make my first level LONG before LBP2 was even known, so expect the 1st installment to come out late March, early April.

3 (Self-Promotion ):

The group has been dead for a while now (much to my poor management skills... hence why teenagers don't run businesses xD), but I made a pact/promise long ago that I'd make a level for us to utilize. With the announcement of the control seat in LBP2, that pushed me even more to make a level in LBP2 just for OI. I still use the logo, and the premise is still the same... and NOW would be the perfect time to finally make a level about the group. I mean, we already got advertising, promotions and copyrights, so now... heh-heh, expect OI to come back soon...

Now, this thread will most likely die before any of these 3 levels are released. And, worst-case scenario, and highly likely, they might NEVER be finished. But the ideas still remain, and with ideas can come great potential. And riding on this premise, my creative "itch" is spurred on once more to attempt to finish them. By all means, use these ideas; heck, out-right TRY and steal them. I won't hold anything against you.

I hope THIS time around I won't severely disappoint you should I decide to drop the ball. But what a grand day it'll be once any of these 3 levels are completed.

Aaaand, I've got ONE more idea I had in mind... but I'll keep that under wraps for now...

I was the same way in LBP. I would build very detailed parts of a level, and then get lazy and not even finish it.
Haha, this time, however, I plan to finish my long-in-production levels Green Planet and The Energy Factory.

Dedicate yourself to your projects, NAO!!
