Hello. I am attempting to make a Metal Gear Solid 3 level. I just need help.

I have a scenario set up where i have a guard (sackbot) sleeping. I have him acting right now - which is obviously recorded on his behavior chip - and i tried adding another behavior chip to be activated once the player walks past him, which plays the metal gear solid "!" sound which is supposed to activate the guard and have him chase the player. Now - how do I go about doing this?

I just tried to add a second behavior chip to the guard's (sackbot) internal chip, but it says that doing so will delete the acting that I recorded for him.

WTF?

How do I make this scenario work so that the sound triggers a different sort of behavior for this guy?

Also...is there any way that I can make a big red "!" appear when he wakes up? Somehow?

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I've learned so much with all the questions ive been asking here. I am only trying to make levels for the community to enjoy.

Here is what I would do to make the following scenario come to real life.

1)Make a sackbot.

2) Place two sackbot brains in the sackbot's circuit board. You need one brain for every different type of behaviour. You would need two sackbot brains. One brain for sleeping and one brain for chasing/attacking.

3) Place a player sensor near the guard and wire it up to the "chase behaviour", ie. the brain on your sackbot that contains this behaviour.

4) Make an emitter. Wire the player sensor to that emitter. Make an exclamation mark out of dissolve or any material since we have that ability now. ^^ Save that "exclamation mark" with the capture object tool. Make the emitter emit that "exclamation mark."

Normally, I wouldn't use player sensors because they can't be turned off, but I assume that you don't want your sackbot to go back to sleep.

This would make the sackbot sleep by default. When you get into the player sensor's range, it would activate the "chase behaviour." The player sensor would also tell the emitter that it needs to make an "!"

Anyways, I hoped that I helped(at least a little).

Good luck!
