LBP2 Broke My PS3?

Archive: 12 posts

So, today I was playing LBP2, and when I was pin hunting, I was playing my second ever Dive In level. So I did that, the player who I had joined had already gone past a Close-Level Gate, then he quickly beat the level. At the point where it was my time to rate the level, I rated it as was and then pressed Continue. I got the loading screen glitch where the loading bar would flash randomly at different parts of the bar. After, I held down the PS button, went to turn off my controller(as that supposedly works, I've never really had to do it) then it froze before it got to Turn off Controller. I then waited a good amount of time, turned off my PS3 using the console's power off(holding down my finger), it beeped like it should, then the green light kept flashing. I've tried ejecting the LBP2 disc, it works, but the system won't shut off and the green light keeps flashing. It's been at least 10 minutes now...

Please help me. D:

I do not want to send my PS3 in or any stuff. Google and various search engines have not helped.

I also want to have the "A Game A Day Keeps The Doctor Away" pin/trophy. Help me!

Wait, so the PS3 wont turn off? I think that's what you said? (edit needed?) If so, you can only hit the power button at the back. If it wont turn ON, then first make sure all your cords are plugged in right, because I know with my phat PS3 it can come loose pretty easily.2011-01-23 22:25:00

And then coneect it again to see if your ps3 still works!

If you dont have the hard off switch remove the plug, reinsert the plug and power on.2011-01-23 22:37:00

Thanks guys, I gotta wait until my dad comes home(lol, midnight) before I do anything crazy, and tomorrow I have school, but I was looking on the internet to see if this loses any data?

(Yes, the PS3 won't turn off)

I had it in other games a few times and lost no data pulling the plug.2011-01-23 22:50:00

This can happen every once in a while. As said before, just pull the plug from the PS3 and connect it again, then turn on the PS3. Everything should be fine, you won't lose any data.

I have had similar crashes not with LBP2 but other games. I nearly 100% guarantee that it wont be damaged from being switched off from the electricity. It might be damaged from being left 20 odd minutes trying to turn off after a failure though 2011-01-23 22:52:00

Why do you think many people are rejecting online requests?
The answer to that is why you shouldn't play online either until a patch comes.

Also, you shouldve just hit Quit Game and not Turn off Controller.
The loading screens say "don't switch off when you see this icon" not "don't turn off the game when you see this icon"

Unless the other guys' strategies work, you're screwed.

This was happening to my PS3 on a daily basis doing the early versions of the LBP2 Beta. Just cut the power/ pull the plug
Your PS3 should be fine, and you won't lose any data you wouldn't have lost when the PS3 crashed anyway...
