Now I remade it with LBP2 tools. http://lbp.me/v/ww9fzm Basically, one player controls this "Cursor", which is a simulation of the Pop-It that you would use in create mode, using LBP2 tools. You can pick up certain objects and move them around. Moving these objects around will allow the other player, which is playing like you normally do, jumping, running, grabbing, to platform through the level. | 2011-01-23 19:27:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
If you want F4F, you MUST name the level you want me to F4F in the post with your review. The more detailed the review you give me is, the more detailed the review I give you will be. F4F: - - - - - | 2011-01-25 17:51:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
this looks pretty cool man, definitely in my queue. If you could F4F my jelly world level that would be cool man. | 2011-01-25 18:53:00 Author: racer1020 Posts: 71 |
Added to the list. Just waiting for your feedback . | 2011-01-27 03:07:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
I loved it man really cool concept. I just think you should have put some more detailed instructions cause it took me a bit of time to understand what I had to do in some situations. so just a little clarification on what you can do with the couser would be great | 2011-01-27 03:18:00 Author: racer1020 Posts: 71 |
I got this one queued up and ready for combat. If you can check out my Music Gallery, or even The Mechman Saga, that'd be pretty sweet | 2011-01-27 03:41:00 Author: XFennoX Posts: 82 |

I'll try to make it a bit easier to understand but it is a puzzle level after all, there should be SOME thinking involved. BTW when did you play it? Because I changed the description a little bit yesterday and added those little pop-ups at the bottom of the screen to show what each button does to make it easier to understand. I'll get your feedback done ASAP. | 2011-01-28 02:06:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
Added some new pics. And I just noticed that the jetpack part stopped working for some reason -_- . Fixed now. | 2011-01-28 04:05:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
Ah sorry about late reply, have about 10 levels crying out in my queue. Anyways, I didn't have the pleasure of testing this out in 2 player, but the cursor was quite smooth to move around with. The whole concept of having a 'guardian angel' of sorts move the world for you to move through, is a pretty awesome idea indeed and you've pulled it off well | 2011-01-30 20:55:00 Author: XFennoX Posts: 82 |
Aw man, thanks for trying it out though I appreciate it and I'm glad you liked the concept. I will try out your Mechman Saga next time I'm online. | 2011-01-30 22:46:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
Thanks for the positive feed back! I would love to try out your level but I don't have anyone to play with. How hard would it be for me to play by myself using two controllers? | 2011-01-31 02:47:00 Author: LukeCF Posts: 790 |
Added to the queue and bookmarked. Will play soon. Edit: Alright, I will have to come back later and try this with 2 players, but what I saw was great! The one thing I would say for now is, try to find a way to contain the cursor within the boundaries of the level. I was able to cheat and fly my cursor all the way to the end. But as I said, I will come back later with a friend. Edit2: Ok, I came back and brought a friend this time. And It was pretty good! I think that you made yourself a very nice co-op level. Gameplay: 4/5 - I thought the gameplay was great, there was always something new and many challenges to get by. The one thing I noticed was that there were a few tough camera angles in there as well as some things that were extremely hard to move without jerking them. But overall, I loved it! Scenery: 4/5 - My friend left a comment on there saying that he would have liked the level to look a little better. I personally thought it looked decent, much better than others, but I do understand what he was saying. I think you could have added a bit more detail in a few places where it looked blank. Sounds: 3/5 - I thought the music was a nice choice, but I think I would have added more sound effects. Maybe a sound effect when the cursor grabs something? I don't remember hearing any. 2P Function: 4/5 - What I mean by that was, how well it works having two players doing different things at the same time. I would have given a 5/5, but I noticed that there are times where the cursor can just leave the other person to die. I would try to find a way to fix that. Overall, great 2P level. I look forward to seeing more from you. | 2011-01-31 03:02:00 Author: ShamgarBlade Posts: 1010 |

Thanks for the positive feed back! I would love to try out your level but I don't have anyone to play with. How hard would it be for me to play by myself using two controllers? Actually, it wouldn't be THAT hard now that I think about it. Some parts maybe but a lot of them you use the Cursor to move something and then after that you use the player, there are only a couple places where you use both at the same time. Hmm.. that sounds like a good idea but I wonder if you can do that with holographic material though? Edit2: Ok, I came back and brought a friend this time. And It was pretty good! I think that you made yourself a very nice co-op level. Gameplay: 4/5 - I thought the gameplay was great, there was always something new and many challenges to get by. The one thing I noticed was that there were a few tough camera angles in there as well as some things that were extremely hard to move without jerking them. But overall, I loved it! I think you're talking about the parts where there are strings or springs. Those are really annoying! Scenery: 4/5 - My friend left a comment on there saying that he would have liked the level to look a little better. I personally thought it looked decent, much better than others, but I do understand what he was saying. I think you could have added a bit more detail in a few places where it looked blank. I know what you mean. I couldn't really figure out how to make it look better though but I will check again. Sounds: 3/5 - I thought the music was a nice choice, but I think I would have added more sound effects. Maybe a sound effect when the cursor grabs something? I don't remember hearing any. Thanks, that's a great idea! Didn't even think about that. 2P Function: 4/5 - What I mean by that was, how well it works having two players doing different things at the same time. I would have given a 5/5, but I noticed that there are times where the cursor can just leave the other person to die. I would try to find a way to fix that. Do you remember a specific part where that happens? I didn't notice that. Overall, great 2P level. I look forward to seeing more from you. Thanks a lot for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I will add sounds when I get on today and I will look for areas to improve the scenery. | 2011-02-01 01:14:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
Thanks for the feedback of "Tilt, Roll, and Drop". I didn't bring a friend with me to fully enjoy this level, but I could see how this level works. VISUALS: The materials of this level worked and well polished with corner edit. SOUND: Good music and sound effects. GAMEPLAY: The Controlinator usage of the cursor works, and the idea of having another player going through platforming obstacles are ingenious. OVERALL: That's an interesting level. If one of my friends is with me, it'll be worth playing again. A yeah vote. | 2011-02-01 23:24:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |

2/2/2011 Changes: -Added a sound effect whenever an object grabs something. Please tell me what you think about the sound I chose and if one of the objects doesn't make the sound. -Added a sound effect for when the blocks are dropped. -Fixed some camera angles where the camera would cause the player to die. -Added some more cameras. -Added more detail in a few places where it looked blank. -Added a checkpoint (the part after the fire pit, where you have to grab a box and shoot the player upwards.) -Fixed the second obstacle (pictured above) where the ball could get stuck if you move the object too much. PLEASE tell me if you find anything wrong after the changes. Future changes (maybe): -Try to fix the problem where some objects move faster than the Cursor. -Improve detail in some parts that look blank. | 2011-02-02 23:47:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
Hmm, I don't have anyone to play with right now. You can invite me to your pod, and we can play it then, but otherwise, I don't think I can test it. :/ | 2011-02-04 05:21:00 Author: Yofig Posts: 288 |
I have an idea, what time will you be on tomorrow? I'll get my cousin who hasn't played the level yet to play with you so that I know it's new to both players and I get to see first-hand what parts you two have trouble with. (In retrospect, I probably should've PM-ed this instead. Oh well.) | 2011-02-04 06:01:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
[LBP2]A Helping Hand... err... Cursor! (http://lbp.me/v/ww9fzm) BrnxBlze Gameplay::star: 2 PLAYERS ONLY! Thankfully, one of my mates was in the room with me, and luckily, I have two controllers when strangers do decide to come into my house. First of, sweet concept! I'm not quite sure yet how the cursor works, but it provides a very dynamic gameplay element. My friend and I had a nice amount of laughs playing this, I killed him a couple of times on "accident," so we had a really good time playing this. The puzzles were unique to only two players, so there's absolutely no way you can play by yourself. But what I REALLY liked about it, this is exactly what I think the MOVE Pack will be like, so I say bullocks to you Mr. MOVE! This concept eliminates the need to even own a MOVE controller for LBP2, and is why I love this level so much. Presentation::star: There is no story, but for this level, there is no need for one. The level is a platformer... with a slight tweaking to it. (; You start of with instructions of what to do, given a pat on the back, and are told good luck. I beat my friend to the cursor, so I was able to control it, and I had a blast doing it, Originality::star: This for sure deserves a star. I don't think I'll come across another one of these levels for a while, at least not until the MOVE Pack comes out, but that's okay, because that makes this level more special! Atmosphere::star: I didn't pay enough attention to the detail of the level due to the amount of lulz occurring in my room, but it looked good. The mix of wood in the background with the white steel was strange, but it worked out. The mood was very fun, and I had a lot of it during gameplay. Pace::star: I think the pacing was just right. It wasn't too long, and it wasn't too short. I think you stopped when either you ran out of ideas, or your thermo maxed out, but I'm leaning towards the latter. Overall: :star::star::star::star::star: & <3 Outstanding job. Very original, fun, and diverse. Definitely deserves five stars, and a heart. (: | 2011-02-06 17:49:00 Author: jEpiik Posts: 81 |
Thanks again jEpiik for your great review. I'm thinking of putting some sort of sensor so that if there's not 2 people or more in the level it doesn't let you play. What do you guys think? (Unrelated side note: this thread has 600+ views and about 560 of those views were me.) | 2011-02-06 20:14:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
This looks awesome! I'll check it out with sim and see what we think | 2011-02-09 13:44:00 Author: AssassinatorRFC Posts: 715 |
Thanks a lot, I can't wait to see what you guys think! | 2011-02-09 22:56:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
I just went ahead and played it as the mouse by myself, to check out the puzzles. I loved the puzzles, I loved your movement system. My only complaint is that it's just kind of ugly. Boring brown all the way down, really. So, work on the presentation, and you've got a stellar level. | 2011-02-09 23:57:00 Author: Yofig Posts: 288 |
2/11/2011 Changes: -Added some detail in the first thin layer, hopefully that makes the level look better. -Added a sound when you mouse over a white object with the Cursor. -Added some indestructible tweakers to some sponges so that they won't accidently get squished by metal. Also added these tweakers to a cardboard area so that when the bomb goes off it doesn't explode the cardboard. -Zoomed out the Cursor's camera. -Added some music changes. -Added some sound effects Future changes: -Add more sound effects. Does anyone know of a way to make hologram not go through a certain material? If there's not, there should be a way to do that with the "Material Tweaker." | 2011-02-11 22:06:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
I'll give it another look ^.^ | 2011-02-13 21:13:00 Author: Yofig Posts: 288 |
Thanks a lot but you didn't have to do that, Yofig. But since you already did, what'd you think? | 2011-02-16 22:00:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
