I've figured out why I want LBP.....

Every game that I've ever played no matter how great it is there is always something you wished they would have added. Or said this is great but if I would have made it I would have done it this way. Or had an idea in your mind for a game and wish you could make it. This game covers all of those reasons.

I don't know how smart our group is on these forums when it comes to modding. But I've always envy people on computer games that know how to mod and make a game be what they want it to be. In this game I'm not limited to what Media Molecule has give me. I'm only limited by my imagination to make it.

If I create what I think is the perfect level and publish it. And the next person that downloads it wants to make it better they can. And I can do the same with theirs.

Add this to the great graphics, tools that are so easy to use that anyone could use them. The promise of dlc after the game comes out and endless number of levels, and mechanical wonders people create to download once this game comes out. I can't wait til the end of October!

Well, LittleBigPlanet still has some restrictions. For one, spheres don't act as such; they act the same as a cylinder. Not to say that's really an issue, but it isn't completely, 100% open-ended. In terms of a 2-D platformer, you can do basically anything; that much is true.2008-08-07 22:02:00

I've actualy heard now that you can't create spheres (except for soccer balls (footballs)

If you're able to to shrink the footballs to a miniscule size lol, you could essentially sticker over them and make a sphere.2008-08-07 22:36:00

You can create them, but i'm pretty sure what cartman is saying is correct. they will only roll left or right, not forwards or backwards. You also can't really make precise adjustments to objects as they have to be as thick as the layer they're in. However, still amazing!

Yeah I've thought about how this 2.5D playground as they call it could hender some ideas. But other than this if you can imagine it you can build it. I was referring more to the fact that the average joe like myself can come into it and make a game from scratch.

While we are talking about spheres, could you make a spinning laying down (horizontal) platform? Or would a 2d world restrict something like that too?

Yep, that's also restricted, I believe. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think an object can move in and out of a layer; in this case, that's what would be happening.

The pinata holders span 2 layers, and I still don't think you can create spheres.. I read it somewhere. Also, the spheres do act as cylinders, thats why you can't create spheres (apart from the premade ones- orange - football...)

And imma bet against Cartman (again ) and say that you can make objeckts that span 2 layers and move between them.
