My first combo (need help)

Archive: 5 posts

I just found this site (although it seems I signed up before ) and looks like the ideal place to ask this question.
I'm copying this from the EU forum were I first posted

"I'm messing about in create and decided to try and make a 2X combo.Only got the game on friday so I'm totally new when it comes to the logic stuff,so hopefully someone can help me.

(full)

So here is my one hit Combo

I have the X button wired into a Counter,that has a value of 1.
That's connected to a Timer, that has a value of one second. When that Counter is activated it fires the rocket and the Timer counts down, and resets the first Counter back to zero.

(1 hit only)

My two hit combo is Counter with a value of two,it 's input is my one hit Counters output (so two presses of x activates the second counters output)
It's connected to another one second timer, that also resets the counter so the combo is finished and can be started again.
The timer is connected to my second emitter that fires another rocket.

(2 hit)

So one press of x fires one rocket. Two presses of x fire both rockets.

This is were my problem comes in.When I press x quickly,my first Counter sticks as on and locks everything down. It's showing that the output is working, but the Timer, and 2nd counter don't activate,so it cant reset.

Anyone got any ideas if this is a bug in the game,or is there there something else I need logic wise between my X button, and the first Counter."

Another quick question
Whilst reading through again and looking at the images,I was thinking about how I'd reset the second counter if you fail to input the second press in time.
Would one of those input combiners from the first and second timer, connected into the second counters reset work?

About an hour ago was the first time i've ever done or thought about something like this,so I hope it makes sense and doesn't come across total gibberish.

Thanks.

It did when I first built it,the output went into both the timer and emitter. But doing it through the timer still fires the rocket on command and then resets the counter after the set time.It was still locking up after quick presses of X,so think it's ok as it is.
Think I'll go back on it and test different reset speeds, not sure if it will do anything,

Despite the fact you couldn't answer my question, whilst replying I fixed the sticky counter by speeding up the reset time.So in a way you helped me

I think it was somehow overloading the countdown, and the results were locking up the Counter. If I could give you double thanks I would.

Guess I'm the sort of person who needs to see the problem again in words and pics before I can work stuff out.

Thanks again.
