Combining emitters and rotators

Archive: 5 posts

Okay, i'm fairly sure this can be done, I just can't figure it out. I want to combine an emitter and a joystick rotator (I think), so whichever way my sackbot is facing, the item will emit in that direction. How could I go about doing this?2011-01-23 16:21:00

y not use a creatinator?
unless ur trying to make the sackbot have multiple powerups at the same time..
could u clarify "way my sackbot is facing" do u want left and right or just the whole 360 rotation?

PS. IS it possible to blot on a circle onto the circuit board?

I'm trying to have multiple powerups, so I don't want to use the creatinator. I don't really know how to clarify any more the "way the sackbot is facing." Literally whether it's facing left or right in the level, you know?2011-01-23 17:26:00

A useless trick from lbp1 has become incredibly useful in lbp2: you can bolt objects to sackboy or a sackbot if you hit his neck just right with the bolt. So for what you're trying to do, you could make a circle of invisible hologram, bolt it to the sackbot, stick a joystick rotator on it and map the Left stick to the rotator's L/R input. Set the rotator's speed pretty high so it's pretty much an instant switch from left to right. You'll also need an follower with zero speed/accel/decel and allow layer change set to "ON" so it'll change layers along with your bot.

Then just stick your emitter on the holo and you're all good. Personally, I prefer keeping it aimable, so I would map the right stick to the rotator, but that might not be in keeping with what you're going for in your level.
