Animation styles for players?
Archive: 19 posts
Something I thought of during the beta.I personally think it would add a bit of personality to some costumes(Doubly so if you could equip different styles to individual costumes,if possible.). Thoughts? | 2011-01-23 07:13:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
I guess... But why do that when you can make a sackbot mimic the player with a different animation style? | 2011-01-23 08:00:00 Author: .jamo ![]() Posts: 172 |

Because that wouldnt work at all times. You silly goose. And it would take a crazy amount of work. It also wouldn't be accessible to the non-creators. | 2011-01-23 10:52:00 Author: Luminous_Reaver ![]() Posts: 70 |
i think what jamo meant was thta you can make a sackbot that looks exactly like the player who is controlling it, and then tweak the animaton of the bot, so if you wanted characteers in your level to walk a certain way but still look like the player just force the player into a dcs and control a sackbot | 2011-01-23 13:57:00 Author: Skalio- ![]() Posts: 920 |

It'd only work in your own levels. It's also worth noting that sackbots can't swim and rigging them to be controlled is currently beyond some creators' understanding. Like mine. Also thermometer. | 2011-01-23 14:18:00 Author: Luminous_Reaver ![]() Posts: 70 |
You guys are right with what I meant. I think that's what we thought he meant. It'd only work in your own levels. It's also worth noting that sackbots can't swim and rigging them to be controlled is currently beyond some creators' understanding. Like mine. Also thermometer. It is really simple to do: Controllinator set to transmit placed anywhere. Place a sackbot and open its microchip (R1 while highlighting) Place a controlinator on the mictochip and set it to recieve. Press square on the bot and set the costume to "mimic owner" Get in the first CtrlNtr and there you go. | 2011-01-23 14:47:00 Author: .jamo ![]() Posts: 172 |
It is really simple to do: *Instructions* Thanks for the tip. I'll retract what I said about accessibility, I was expecting direct Sackbot control to be a bit more complicated. | 2011-01-23 14:53:00 Author: Luminous_Reaver ![]() Posts: 70 |
yeah its pretty simple really, it only gets complicated when you begin to play with different button settings and turning off actions, like no jumping or no grabbing. also making a sackbot that is controlled by the player takes up not even a single pixel of thermo ![]() | 2011-01-23 14:59:00 Author: Skalio- ![]() Posts: 920 |
Yes please. I also thought of this during the beta, it would make a fair bit of extra customisation in the game that is weirdly missing and I'd imagine it wouldn't even be that much work to implement. | 2011-01-23 18:45:00 Author: rtm223 ![]() Posts: 6497 |

I had the same idea! Anyway I'm all for it | 2011-01-24 06:38:00 Author: WCF7__ ![]() Posts: 63 |
Yes, I've wanted this very much. They could even make more animations, stick them somewhere in the costumes section, by Popit colors perhaps? | 2011-01-25 01:06:00 Author: JamesDNaux ![]() Posts: 757 |
I support this Idea, I would also like to use the animaions, not only for sackbots, but for players too. | 2011-01-25 01:08:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |
took me a minute to realize exactly what you guys are talking about but now that i get it... /signed. | 2011-01-25 01:27:00 Author: Deftmute ![]() Posts: 730 |
I still don't.... I'm assuming we're talking about a way of setting the animation style of the costume via both the Pop-It or Create Mode? I would love the ability to force the player(s) to wear specific outfits without Sackbots. Due to the water and certain power up limitations, sackbots can't be used at times, so a forced costumes and animations option would be nice ![]() | 2011-01-25 01:31:00 Author: Super_Clone ![]() Posts: 849 |
Yes. Because I want Avalon-Happy whenever I succeed in something. :SH: | 2011-01-25 01:33:00 Author: ThePineapplizer ![]() Posts: 769 |
Yeah, I've love to see the ability to personalise your own Sackperson's animation style for when you're running through the story mode and community levels. There could even be "Default Expression" settings. Say your sackboy's usually a scaredycat (I know mine is ![]() | 2011-01-25 02:01:00 Author: ChazFox ![]() Posts: 132 |
You should be able to use the animations of the curators outside of Sackbot territory. It would be alot cooler to see different people running differently in a level full of adventure! | 2011-01-25 16:36:00 Author: Fumo161 ![]() Posts: 210 |
