I took it upon myself to finish the "Clank" costume, image inside.

Archive: 20 posts

I kept hearing people getting mad of the Clank costume's lack of eyes, (I think its great, since its now mow open to make original costumes.) or skin, etc.

So then I remembered there were some costume pieces that may work for it, so I fgured I'd give it a shot.

Here's the result:

So, what do you think?
Good, Bad, Should add something, should remove something?

In case you like it and wondering how to make it, here's the list of what I used:

- Clank Head and Torso (Of course.)
- Those glassess from LBP1 with pink frame and dark glass. (Forgot the name. )
- Iron Man Skin (From Marvel Costume Pack.)
- Ryu Gloves (From Street Fighter Pack.)
- Feet from that bulky guy with the hammer hand, from the Judge Dread Costume pack.
- Different Gray-shade pics.
(I'll try to writte down the names properly and edit later. )

I'll work on a more DLC-free version too, since I know some may not have Marvel/ Dread/ SF packs.

Hope that helps!

That's awesome I got the Rachet & Clank packs and I did notice (even never playing the games xD) that they looked unfinished. I wear my LBP1 costume but with the LBP2 1st Week T-Shirt so I'm alright 2011-01-22 22:41:00

Looks aesome, but don't have those DLC.

Also, I noticed they forgot the gloves for Ratchet. And I wish they had made the cap and ears separate pieces for Ratchet.

Good choice of pieces though the silver is a little off.
But then, I'm VERY picky.
Well done. I can't wait for this to get into the PS Store!

No tail either, but the lion tail works as a replacement.

Yeah, I kinda noticed it looks odd in the pic, but looks a tad better in game.

I'll mess around with it some more, see if I can get a better collor and build and try to make it with no DLC required too.

I tried it too. Yours is better. I must not have looked closely at those glasses, 'cuz I used a different pair (can't remember which) and yours looks way better. However, after doing a google image search...

....I gotta' say that the Hammerstein feet probably aren't the best choice, and I'm not sure about the Ryu gloves either (though there might not be any better gloves). But even with those nitpicks, it's way better than the standard Clank costume.

[edit] Of all the shoes, I like the Dean shoes best and they're not even dlc

Well i may try it tonight and post a pic,
just did not want to look like i was trying to show anyone up or something,
but i don't think anyone will think that, so I'll go ahead and post my versions of the undone costumes MM gave us all.
Also if anyone would like to see a compete version of a costume just for fun, tell me, and I'll see if it's possible. *mew

The alien hands from the Toy Story DLC may be the best replacement for hands. (They have 2 fingers.)

That's what I ended up going with. They're not especially robotic looking, but none of the hands are. When I went back and did the glasses like SL showed, I remembered why I didn't do it before: they overlap a bit with the eye-holes and don't look right, but if you sticker them to match the eye-hole rims, it's actually hard to tell. I also used the teal circle instead of green ones to more closely match that pic.

So who's going to make a Secret Agent Clank costume ?

I'm on it! Just let me get back to LBP2...

I'm having problems making the outline of the glasses grey :2011-01-23 17:52:00

@Dug- The best way to achieve this is to sticker the glasses the proper shade of grey, and then add the green circles. If you'd like to be more precise, create the costume on a SackBot, made as large as possible, that way you aren't restricted quite as much by sticker resizing, then just save the costume when it's done It's a great costume making trick 2011-01-23 17:57:00

I tried that and am still kind of having problems. I think I'll just wait it out until someone makes a tutorial.

What DLC do you have? I made one today! It uses some of the US Collector's Edition DLC, along with the Marvel Pack, so if you have that stuff, I can just give you a SackBot wearing the costume. When I get a chance, I'll post my version, so you can at least see what mine looks like.

That would be great!

I own all the US Collector's Edition DLC, but the only costume in the marvel pack I own is Iron Man.

Funny, that's the only Marvel costume you need! Can you send me a friend request? I will try to get it to you this week, but I have school, so I may have to wait until this weekend.2011-01-25 00:34:00
