Keep player from changing layers?

Archive: 5 posts

Is there a way to adjust hologram or use some other type of thin invisible material to keep the player from changing layers in certain areas? For example if I were making a zoo and I had cages but in order to make the animals visible the bars have to be a certain distance apart. How would I keep the player from entering the cages (without sackbots)? Thanks in advance top anyone who can help.2011-01-22 20:29:00

Well, putting glass between the bars would do it. But it's visible so...yeah. I don't know anything about holo material yet.2011-01-22 20:34:00

simple:
place a hologram material in a thin layer, change it's brightness to 0% and make it lethal with plasma - now tweak the lethal hologram and turn the option "audio" off. then the player cannot change the layer.

Wow thank you! I had tried that with electricity but it didn't work so I figured the other dangers wouldn't either. Thank you again.

yeah, you're welcome^^ - plasma is the only one whose effect can disappaer with the hologram - I first thought this would work with electricity, too^^ but since I always prefered plasma in the beta... I never recognized ^-^7
