Hello everyone for the pass few days LittleBigPlanet 2 is bringing us awesomeness that has blown away our minds with creativity, not only that but also LBPC has been hit with a huge tidal wave of members. The problem is that tons of member are coming here to the help section and asking multiple question (around 5 new thread an hour) and most are repeated, so I took some time to create a FAQ for most of this question. This is not the final version, I will keep changing it and adding more over time. Also if I miss a question that has been ask leave the question in a comment and if you know the answer aswell.

Sackbot Tracking Camera.
This is very easy to create, just see this video and it will explain everything.

If you don't want to mess with movie cameras or if you want players to have their own cameras in a versus level, you can stick an invisible controllinator on invisible holo and add a follower so it follows the bot around.

Start a level already controlling a sackbot.
[from EliminatorZigma] Put a controllinator next to the start point, set it to "automatically enter." You can then also use the game camera to track the sackbot and hide the controllinator and start gate so your sackboy isn't visible at the start of the game.

I saw a sackbot with a controllinator on its chest.
That feature hasn't made it into the game yet (and may not make it in at all). For now, the best you can do is remote control a bot.

Endless Loading Screen.
Was a problem during the beta too, although reports suggest it's more problematic in the retail version. If you get stuck in a loading screen, you can fix it by turning your controller off and on again. If you have other Bluetooth devices like a wireless keypad, you may have to shut those off too.

Where to find holo and neon material.
You get holo and light matter from doing the tutorials and neon can be found in the story mode.

How to fix the pod earth glitch
Access XMB -> Sign out off PSN -> Return to game -> Log back on. If that doesn't work, try this: Quit the game, change your avatar. Use an avatar from before LBP2. Shut off the PS3 and restart. This worked for me, I had the same glitch after using an LBP2 premium avatar. Good luck!

Sackbot logic and ect
This tutorial will help you explain some basic sackbot logic such as Sackbot set to recieve Flying, Follow Cam, Aiming Emitted Objects/Shooting, Levitating Objects using Sackbot ect. Here is the tutorial link. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=44239-Sackbot-A.I-and-Logic-Tutorials)

Animation tutorial.

LBP2 online fail.
This is a bug that Media Molecule is working and they will fix it soon! so stop asking!

Game freezing at intro
Some people are having problems starting the game if they import their lbp1 profiles. The solution is to decline importing your profile, play through until you get to the pod and then go to settings/profile and import it there. If you still get freezing, you'll have to settle for only importing your objects (it'll bring prizes, objects you've created, costumes, and saved pods from your lbp1 profile, but not levels) and then you'll need to export any levels from lbp1 you want and import them separately into lbp2. Make sure you backup your profile before you start importing levels, though.

Advanced logic questions.
If you feel like you're up to doing some advanced logic, check out Rtm's logic blog (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=19365-Logic-Blog-updated-2010-10-10). For anything not covered there (or if its over your head--some of it is tough to follow), go ahead and post in the help section as it will probably be too specific to include in a faq.

How do I get my beta stuff into the retail game?
You don't:

Hi all - the reason we don't want things imported over from the beta, is that there are some GAME DESTROYING bugs in there, that if they were carried over to live via community created items etc, would cause epic problems for a lot of people.

REALLY IMPORTANT:
If anyone manage to import anything from the beta or recreate the god glitch, PLEASE get hold of me personally via the mods on this site, or via this email - community@mediamolecule.com - and tell us how, rather than posting it publicly.
Needless to say, posting any method to import beta content into the retail game is strongly frowned upon.

How do I eject a player from a controlinator in play mode?
Wire a button (or other desired output) to the eject input of the seat (located on the bottom right of the dcs.)

How to create a manual esque HP-bar
Visit this tutorial by Luos_83 (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=45250-Tutorial-manual-esque-HP-bar-logic-level) to get all the info.

Making invisible hologram
When you tweak hologram material brightness to 0% it will still be visible in create mode, so it's easier to work with. Go to play mode or turn on Preview in the start menu to see how it really looks.

Beware of the 'captured' POD - it can destroy your profile

This is just a warning that most of you won't need, but we need to start educating.

There are levels out there with the 'captured' POD item, the using of which allows you to bring create items into your own POD.

Using this you can easily and accidentally destroy your profile

Unfortunately some items will make the pod disappear, or be destroyed, others will block Sackboy from spawning or kill him, and you will be unable to reset the POD. There is currently no fix other than to delete it and start again.

So use it at your own risk

We will have a fix for this soon, and fix existing broken PODS - if you have a broken pod now, you can wait for this patch to arrive, but there is no date for that at this time, it could be days, it could be longer.

Great post, thanks for all the tips!

I noticed that the Sackbot tutorial you linked shows another method for the Sackbot cam that would work better if multiple players are controlling different Sackbots. Looks like it will function better than the video at the top of your post even if the situation involved only one player/sackbot.

Maybe a list of some common LBP acronyms that may be used through out board that many new folks may not understand...i.e---->DCS, I/O switch, etc

A very nice and detailed faq. Personally i think there should be a little more on sackbots (like making a checkpoint system, i would make a video on it, but my laptop died, i did make an example picture i used in the beta doubt it would help but its a nice little example if you understand it)

Though i really think there should be some info on the pod glitch, not making it or getting it of course, But maybe info on what it is, and the importance of NOT trying it (ruining your profile etc. maybe even a repost of spaff's message) and maybe what to do if you were foolish enough to mess with it. I can see a lot of people coming here to LBPC looking for a solution on what to do when they messed up their pod

Nice video on the camera tracking a sackbot, but the comments on the youtube page says it doesn;t actually work with the game, that it was only for the beta? Is this accurate? Awesome! I have been exploring my sackbots a bit and came to the same camera setup as you did. I didn't figure out, though, how to reset it. Also, I didn't know of the multiplayer issue; the "follow around" solution sounds very promising as well.2011-01-25 12:10:00

Tag sensor on checkpoints, activated by tag on Sackbot circuit? Have player follow bot around invisibly and kill off the player when the bot dies, right?

Well to activate the switch setting you first put your pop-it cursor press X of the switch (example an AND gate) the press square and it will take you to the settings. Also I think local space is to adjust the movement of something to 360 dresses or something (An example can be mover if you put local space I think can move different ways)

local space means that if the thing it is on turns the output of the gate will change respectively. example: a movie camera on a piece of material. (if local space is on) if the material turns the camera view turns with it2011-02-02 01:58:00

well it doesnt yet, Mm only created the pre historic pack for the playstation move but that comes separate from the game and its LBP1. Dont worry we will get it soon

Sorry if this is a bad place to ask this.
I'm having problems with posting bigger pictures like everyone else. Instead, I'm stuck with small pics like this:

Or small red X's after putting the url in [IMG] tags that I get from my photos off of LBP.me.

What am I doing wrong? Do you have to have a Twitter account just to get them bigger? Or does this have something do with the "Manage Attachment" option below?

When you are on the LBP.me page of a picture, don't copy the URL of that picture directly...,
Click on that picture first and it will appear at the right size and normal quality in a blank window.
...then copy the URL!

Yeah, that helped a lot. Problem is that I've tried it yet, my mouse does not change into a hand to change it to the right size in a blank window. Something is off about this. I will thank you for helping though.

In create mode when you press start, there's a "camera angle" option, under the "preview mode" option.
I didn't figure out what it was for... :blush: ... camera to take picture? cinematics cameras?
it doesn't seem to change anything when tweaked...

snap angle is to tuning an object to a degree that you want for example if you have a decoration that you want to rotate it to an angle just put the angle number that you want from 5-90 degree angle is like rotating a cube but with a grid mode for rotating.

Try it get an object, decoration, sticker, ect then set the angle you want and rotate the object or whatever you are using .

hm well here is hoping we can use it for more accurate sacbot animations

one last question for now wen linking weirs on a circuit bord you know how you can place it on the bord and it would have that little triangle what is the point in that?

That's a circuit node. It's main purpose it just to route wires where you want them to go so they stay neat and tidy, but if you place one on a microchip and turn the microchip off, you can essentially create a circuit breaker to stop the signal from getting through.2011-02-19 02:24:00

I have a question, how do i select more than one thing in create mode? I thought you press and hold R2 which then highlights that item and then you keep repeating this for your next item. What I'm I doing wrong, for the life of me I can't seem to do this, please if someone could enlighten me.
