Recreating Objects from Story and Custom levels

Archive: 12 posts

I'm thinking of starting a project where people who want to know how an object works from a
story level or even from a custom level can request a guide on how it may have been created.

I have pretty much made one guide made up its kind of messy and maybe not as efficient in
conveying its information as it could be but i think it gets its point across enough.

So basically if you want to know how an object works request it here.
Just leave the name of the level and what the object is(A picture would be helpful to )
For custom levels the item will only get a guide if the original author gives me permission.

Also feel free to write up a guide of your own just PM me the link and I'll post it here also if
you write one up for an object if you could PM me which object it is before hand so we don't
get duplicate guides.

I'll post my first guide now and see what people think

I think it's a good idea to help with figuring out how MM did stuff, can lead to more impressive levels (like that camel from Avalon's level that shoots "friggin' lasers"...) but for some reason, personally, I think it would kinda suck a little to learn exactly how people created stuff themselves. At least their specific inventions that made their level unique in the first place, if I'm making sense.

But that's just me, and if I didn't want to learn it, I could just ignore the thread, so voted yes on your poll to start the project.

No! Uniqueness would be lost!
Some noob would follow the tut and make it copyable, then, BOOM! Insta-spam (who's hungry?)

You do make a good point. I can always make it just for story levels the only reason I suggested custom levels was because there are only so many objects from the story levels that people would want to know how they work if they can't figure it out them selves.

Story would be fine, but probably not custom. You could do it so you will only make the item if the original creator says you can.2011-01-22 17:22:00
