This is a level that I had made before in the beta, but re-made in LBP2. It is a deathmatch level, but it uses an entirely different formula than the MM rocket arena level or several other deathmatch levels. In here, the camera is focused on your sackperson and the arena is bigger than the camera, so you have to really walk around the arena to find the sackpeople you want to shoot. You can choose between a small arena and a large arena, and the large arena is REALLY large, to the point that the Deathmatch game becomes a game of hide-and-seek In King of the Hill, your goal is to capture and defend the zone in the middle. While standing in the zone, you gain 10 points per second. In Deathmatch, the zone in the middle is turned off and your goal is to shoot the other players - the one who has the most kills wins the game. If you find any bugs, please tell me about them in this thread. I'd also appreciate some constructive criticism or a review | 2011-01-22 09:33:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
Anyone want to give this level a chance? | 2011-01-23 02:14:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
Anyone at all? EDIT: Sorry for bumping. I wasn't entirely sure if it was permitted in this forum, so I just decided to risk it. I won't do that with my next levels, though. | 2011-01-23 20:55:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |

I'll give It a try looks interesting. could you F4F my level "jelly cave"? I reviewed your level, would you please do the same in return? | 2011-01-30 10:15:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
Improved the menu, and updated the screenshots. | 2011-01-30 14:00:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
From what I can see from the images, the level design looks nice! I'll Queue this one and check it out as soon as I can | 2011-01-30 14:08:00 Author: DesignerLuke Posts: 31 |
:star: :star: :star: :star: I played this in local multiplayer, which really didn't give the level much fun. First off, the camera was so pulled in that one of us wouldn't spawn when the level began. If we happened to wander by the right checkpoint, they would spawn, and it would be a mad frenzy to be the one to survive. The game worked really well, the scoring system was fine, but local multiplayer is usually a lot more fun than online, not less, and a pulled out camera for local mode would be great. Maybe this could just be on the Victoria map? Just have a local option that would pull out the camera so everyone would spawn. | 2011-01-30 16:03:00 Author: Jaslow Posts: 775 |
Oops.. This level was made for Online Multiplayer only, I should've mentioned that. It uses a lot of versus camera tricks and therefore, it will not work in local multiplayer. I will add a local multiplayer option later, thanks for the suggestion about the pulled-out cameras . Could you try it again in Online Multiplayer sometime, please? In the meantime, i'll edit the level description so that it clearly states that it's for online multiplayer only.. for now. | 2011-01-30 17:23:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
Looks... EPIC! I'll try this out today! | 2011-01-30 17:28:00 Author: dragonember Posts: 607 |
This level is amazing i dont think Steve_Big_Guns would do better himself. The Graphic and all first off we have the two modes: King Of The Hill and Deathmatch And the levels are: Victorias arena( Best for playing Dm and KOTH )Then we have Magnum Opus ( Best and then i really mean best as DM ) Then we have the Bounce pad room ( Works with both modes but i prefer DM ) Iam totally addicted to this level. ITS THE BEST !!!! The playing experience is awsome and i totally love this. Rob ur the best !!! im in love with ur lvl. | 2011-01-30 17:54:00 Author: SZ1 Posts: 1 |
The concept looks like my level. https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=46702-You-have-been-invited-to-the-Imagine-Tournament&p=754660 I have 4 arenas, 10 weapons but only one game mode. The rest is pretty much the same : kill the others as much as possible. I'll go give your level a try and will review it. Check mine when you have the time! | 2011-01-30 20:55:00 Author: ShadowOfEden Posts: 30 |
I'll queue this up for great justice (think that's level 13 in the queue now :O ). The concept looks nice, I'll only be able to fly around in single player, but I'll mainly comment on weapon placement, lines of sight, decor, schtick like that | 2011-01-30 21:09:00 Author: XFennoX Posts: 82 |
@SZ1: Thanks for the glowing review! @ShadowOfEden: Queued, i will try your level soon. @XFennoX: You'll most likely be disappointed - the level can't be played in Single Player. There's a 2~4 player gate in place. | 2011-01-30 21:40:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
I am disappoint. Well, no worries! I have dummy controllers to get past that nothing shall impede my path of reviewing righteousness! | 2011-01-31 06:33:00 Author: XFennoX Posts: 82 |
Okay, but be aware that the level won't work well in Local Multiplayer (it was made for Online Multiplayer). In your case, just get your dummy controller when you're at the 2~4 player gate, and shut it off once you're in one of the arena's - then you're free to explore | 2011-01-31 06:41:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
Had a playthrough: I chucked a sneaky bugger and had a guest signed in so I could run around all the levels are in top form, objectives are quite awesome and seemingly in working order and you're right: Magnum Opus is bloody HUGE. If it could happen, I would recommend probably 4-12 players at a time, it was that big! but overall, a beaut minigame that I will definitely need some friends to test it properly with...and have a ball while playing well done! | 2011-01-31 09:07:00 Author: XFennoX Posts: 82 |
Thanks for the playthrough and the review I agree, Magnum Opus would be even more fun with 4~12 players.. sadly, LBP2 doesn't support that and I think the game would lag severely if it did (although I could be wrong. Sackbots don't seem to lag out the game that much, at all.). Perhaps in a future patch or creator pack, support for more players will be added? That'd be awesome! We'd need bigger pods, though | 2011-01-31 14:12:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
You are winner! | 2011-01-31 18:21:00 Author: Testudini Posts: 3262 |
Ok, so this level is not my sorta cup of tea... but that dosn't mean it doesn't taste good... Infact, this level looks and plays great! So listen to me now, gather up three friends and see which one of you cans stand the tallest! The aiming of the laserbolts are surprisingly accurate and you just gotta love the dodging between layers that is available to the player... Can't think of anything missing, looks good, plays good, tastes good... nice work. (Not entirely sure I approve of like the first 8 posts in this thread... but I approve of the level) | 2011-02-03 14:17:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |
Thanks, Gravel Yes, I know, the first posts were a bit awkward... I will not do it that way with my next levels, though. F4F works much better and is much fairer for the others | 2011-02-03 19:30:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
Fixed the checkpoints in the level (some were too distant from the creatinators), edited the arena descriptions, level badge, and level description, and added a few interface tweaks here and there. | 2011-02-06 16:14:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
