Placing Sackbots in Water Without Tragedy

Archive: 13 posts

I found out that water won't electrocute sackbots if:
A: They are already underwater.
B: They have a 100% gravity damper. (Only requirement.)

I don't know the extents of this and have not experimented with it, so yeah.

Ironically I found this out when I found that my deep diver sackbot had not died from the water I set in my level.

That's an awesome discovery!

Are they able to leave water and then go back into it?

I'm fairly sure that if you move them at least one millimeter, they will be excruciatingly electrocuted to their doom...

I think you can move the water around them though.

Yes! When I get LBP 2 I can do my sack swim level.
OK i's kinda weird how my sackbots will be in water
Does it allow the sackbot to move though?

It should really be an option whether they die by water or not.2011-01-22 14:09:00

They just are unable to add that as a option yet.
Sackbots are only able to move left or right with the A.I they have right now,
it will take a new added A.I for them to move with a Jet-pack or in water.
I'm sure they'll fix this later in a patch don't worry, they have their work cut out for them
as there is a ton of stuff to patch and upgrade, so it'll take a while. *mew

Don't forget, they also have to program the other stuff that sackboy can't do. Follow a tag, or player. Whether or not it is afraid of water. And others.

Whether it can die by water or not SHOULDN'T be an option. If you wanted to do this, just stick a water switch and destroyer on it. Simple as that.

True, but Im pretty sure there gonna fix this and also make them use and do everything a sackboy can.

Nice discovery! One question though. If the sackbot gets out of water, (I'm making a Hawaiian/tropical themed level) will the sackbot get electricuted again if he gets back in the water?2011-02-06 18:56:00

I've found that they can be moved (with the pop-it anyways) in and out of water as long as they have 100% gravity damper, if it's 1% below that, they die.

As cool as that sounds, it sucks that tey can't move at all while underwater. If they have the 100% damper on do they look like they are standing or are they doing the little swim motion?2011-02-07 03:43:00

I don't see that patched now for compatibility reasons as people start using it.

Standing, it seams that in damping 100% all physics system ignores sackbot, that might be reason why it not electrified
