Camera Zone Help

Archive: 13 posts

Okay so I have a situation on my hands here. In my level I have an elevator style sponge ball that brings your sackboy to the next level of my level (sounds weird haha), and sackboy is left with 2 paths on which he can go, one to the left and another to the right. The path to the right is blocked and you need to obtain a key from that side. You move to the left and there is a sticker switch which blows a hole in the wall to let you get the key. What I want is when the sticker is placed for the camera to zoom over to the hole that blows open, is this possible? Can somebody explain to me a way in which I can achieve this goal? haha Thanks guys!

You can do that buy using this camera tool thing that is on the third page of the tool part of the pop-it bag

Do you get it?

I obviously understand that I have to use the Camera Zone gameplay object, thanks for the huge help!

Seriously can anyone that does not have 1 extra chromosome explain to me how to use the camera zone object in a way that it will move to where the wall blows up even though I am not near that as it happens.

can't you atack the sticker switch to the camera?? I gues you already tried it but this seems the only logical thing.2008-11-09 20:25:00

I did this but it does not move over to the wall. If you have played "The Azure Palace" (incredible) and know the part before you get the key where you put the two statues on the platforms the camera zooms to the pillar being knocked over. This is what I want.

Hmm...is the "Player Tracking" option on? I would turn it all the way off since the camera will want you to stay in the shot.2008-11-09 23:46:00

I'd use a non talking magic mouth with a cutscene camera geared to the place you want, with the sticker switch attached to it. Hope it helped.2008-11-11 13:56:00

I would suggest first trying to act politely when requesting for help, even if you don't immediately get the answer you need.

He has the right idea. Make a non magic mouth, with a ridiculous amount of radius that reachs to your sticker switch. Then make it triggered by the sticker switch. Its how they did it in the azure palace.

Even better, you could make a piston with a magnetic switch on it and on a wall to make a delay, so that when the piston pumps fully, the mouth disappears. The piston could be blocked by a disappear material, so the magnetic switch wouldn't activate until you hit the sticker

But if you don't care if the mouth stays there, just read paragraph one, and dismiss paragraph two as absurd ramblings of a crazy man

No, use a sensor switch (Spider Head thingy) and attach it to the magic mouth. And you can square toggle it so that you can't see the mouth, just square toggle and go to visibility2008-11-12 13:42:00
