Best headset to record voice-overs?
Archive: 6 posts
Hello, everyone! With LBP2 now out, I figured it's a good time to start comparing and/or discussing different headsets for recording voice-overs for the best quality. For example, is the PS3's Bluetooth Headset set to HQ better than X or Y USB headset found elsewhere? I have compared the PS3's Bluetooth Headset to Logitech's ClearChat Comfort (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam-communications/internet-headsets-phones/devices/3621), and the verdict... PS3's Bluetooth Headset! Post your experiences and/or suggestions! I'm sure there has to be even a better headset than the PS3's... | 2011-01-22 02:56:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |
I've only tried one bluetooth (a motorola H-something) and a Rock Band mic. The RB mic gave much better results and preserved the lower tones better. | 2011-01-22 20:36:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
I recently bought a Blue Yeti Snowball (http://www.drumza.com/images/BlueSnowballUSBMicrophone.jpg) microphone for recording my acoustic guitar. Just so happens to work great. It cost about ?70. ...Not really a headset though, and I'm sure no one would buy it primarily for LBP. | 2011-01-22 20:49:00 Author: Southpaw020 Posts: 50 |
Well I just got 100% in LBP2 yesterday and just finished all creation tutorials and I was upset to find that, even with the new music tools, there were no voice or choir sounds added to the game (other than beatboxing). The reason I wanted them is to recreate a song sung by a chior where I don't need audible words, but can recreate with just the notes, but I still want to do it with voices and not instruments. (No, "angelic choir" isn't gonna do the trick.) I haven't tried them out yet, but I'm thinking neither my PS3 bluetooth headset (if that's even possible with the sound coming a speaker) nor my PSEye are going to give me the quality that I want. OH HOW I WISH WE COULD JUST ADD OUR OWN SOUND FILES! | 2011-01-24 06:14:00 Author: Jgr9 Posts: 56 |
Ps e?e is propably the best for recording voice-overs. If there are not background voices. | 2011-01-24 06:34:00 Author: FreeAim Posts: 2462 |
OH HOW I WISH WE COULD JUST ADD OUR OWN SOUND FILES! That would also equal endless loading times - imagine having to download an whole new sound bank each time you loaded a level?! I think the closest you are going to get for your Choir sound would be the "Mime Artist" midi, this is the closest "Human Voice" sound object we have - tweak each notes timbre and you might be able to recreate the vowel sounds you are after - won't sound perfect, but better than nothing | 2011-01-24 11:28:00 Author: Macnme Posts: 1970 |
