Changing a sackbot's jump button?

Archive: 6 posts

I'm making a level in which the right stick is used to control a cursor, and the left controls a sackbot. I've got the cursor right, and I've done the remote-control-controllinator thingy that lets you control the sackbot. However, with the right stick controlling the cursor, jumping becomes kind of fiddly, since the X button is right next to the right stick. What I'd like to do is make it so that L1 makes the sackbot jump, but I have no idea how. Is this even possible?2011-01-22 02:36:00

Yes it is possible, but I'm not too sure, as I read it a while ago.

Ask Foofles. ( A member of this forum, if you hadn't realised)

When a controllinator is on a sackbot's microchip, it has inputs as well as outputs, you may have seen this before.

I think you hook up your transmit controllinator's L1 button to the reciever's X input.

But I'm not too sure. If in doubt, ask Foofles!

What you suggested worked. Thank you so much!
Haha, I hadn't even thought about the fact that the controllinator had inputs. I mean, I'd seen them, but I just didn't think about it.

But is there a way to disable the usage of the sackbots arms using the L2 and R2 buttons?2011-01-22 03:19:00

Yes. Stick a receiver controllinator on the bot but DON'T set it to override sackbot controls. Then place another controllinator, but don't set it to be a receiver, and DO set it to override sackbot controls. Now wire the outputs from whichever buttons on the receiver you want to use to whichever buttons on the second controllinator you want the action to control. So if, like the OP says, he wants L1 to be jump, you'd wire the L1 button from the receiver to the X button on the second controller. If you just want to disable L2 and R2, wire up everything straight across (X to X, Circle to Circle, etc) but don't wire up L2 and R2. Now you'll have a controllable bot who can't wave his arms, leaving you free to assign L2 and R2 to other actions.2011-01-22 20:34:00

The transmitter doesn't have the "override sackbot option" unless it's on the sackbot, so this doesn't work.
