Cordless Cords?
Archive: 9 posts
What I'm trying to create is really complex, so I'll try to explain a simpler example of the problem I'm having. Imagine I have an emitter emitting balls. Now let's say there was a button that destroys all the balls with a destroyer. I can't have these balls connected to the button by a cord because they are being emitted. How can I achieve this "wireless cord" effect, or at least make emitted objects be able to have cords connecting to other objects? | 2011-01-22 01:44:00 Author: Jaden010 ![]() Posts: 6 |
Take a ball with a destoryor on it. Connect to the switch you want it to be destroyed by. With the emitter use the option that allows you to choose objects in the level. Choose the ball that's been set up already. That should make it work right? Have not tested it, but seems like it SHOULD work. | 2011-01-22 01:51:00 Author: LukeCF ![]() Posts: 790 |

Can someone else try this to confirm that I'm not crazy? | 2011-01-22 01:53:00 Author: Jaden010 ![]() Posts: 6 |
I'll try it later see if I have the same problems, and get back to yet. Cannot right now though, sorry. | 2011-01-22 01:57:00 Author: LukeCF ![]() Posts: 790 |
I'll try it later see if I have the same problems, and get back to yet. Cannot right now though, sorry. Okay, thanks! Ideally, they should have a wireless transmitter that transmits a on or off signal to all wireless receivers with the same color tag. Transmitters and receivers would solve my problem. | 2011-01-22 02:00:00 Author: Jaden010 ![]() Posts: 6 |
Wire a tag sensor to the destroyer on the emitted balls (with a high range), then have the button activate the matching tag. | 2011-01-22 02:18:00 Author: Chazprime ![]() Posts: 587 |
Wire a tag sensor to the destroyer on the emitted balls (with a high range), then have the button activate the matching tag. That's really smart!!! Thanks! I'll try that and tell you how it goes. I was wanting something like a tag and I considered it, but I never thought about increasing the range and adding a button to the tag! If this works, it'll be basically the wireless transmitter and receiver that I described. | 2011-01-22 02:20:00 Author: Jaden010 ![]() Posts: 6 |
I just want to confirm that it worked! | 2011-01-22 05:55:00 Author: Jaden010 ![]() Posts: 6 |
Wire a tag sensor to the destroyer on the emitted balls (with a high range), then have the button activate the matching tag. Yep, this is probably the only way it'll work. | 2011-01-22 07:00:00 Author: m4tr1x35 ![]() Posts: 50 |
