Help in creating a car with the Controlinator

Hey everybody, I'm new here, but I just got into making things with the Controllinator and I'm having some issues... I'm trying to make a car that has forward and reverse in conjuction to X being forward and Square being reverse, and I've attached seperate motors to the front and back wheels. The problem is that when trying to go either forward or reverse, the other wheel doesn't spin (because of the motor bolt and it not being able to turn on its own) and makes the car completely useless- as it rocks back and forth when the other wheel stops it. I know there has to be an extremely simple thing I'm missing here, but any help would be appreciated. They've added so many new things into LBP2 (which is great that they did) but some of it leaves me scratching my head. Thanks for any help guys! Eric | 2011-01-21 18:13:00 Author: vgeric Posts: 2 |
With that type of control you're better off using the 3-way switch and setting input to forwards/backwards. As far as I know, if you're using the controlinator you should try messing around with movers or rotators (and loose bolts for the wheels), rather than motor bolts which only have one input each. | 2011-01-21 18:57:00 Author: JellyWeasel Posts: 64 |
I just actually did it! I had forgotten about the "direction combiner". I put X and Sqaure into the two inputs of the direction combiner on the circuit board, and wired the output to the motor on the back wheel (and replaced the front wheel with a regular bolt).
