Region differences shown on XMB?

Archive: 10 posts

So I'm playing, and I notice that one of my UK friends has the game.

When I hover over their name on XMB, instead of the normal "LittleBigPlanet 2 in Pod", it says "LittleBigPlanet 2 (UK) in Pod".

Anyone have any idea as to why they would make a point to change it according to region?

The UK region discs are titled like that "Little Big Planet 2 (UK)" ;

I reckon they forgot to properly name the file when writing the discs.
I don;t think there is any difference between the games, they are just region locked to stop you buying cheap copies abroad

I guess the disk is only available in English for players in the UK.

So my collectors edition doesn't even have the localised content? my collectors edition is so gimped.

and while I have no idea what the localised content is, I know that it's probably something I would have wanted.

(I'm pretty sure it's different language versions etc)

Lame. I liked playing LBP1 in German or French.

What's strange is that for my American friends it's just "LittleBigPlanet 2". Why doesn't it say (NA)? I don't get why Mm have done this at all, it only serves to segregate people.

Yeah, UK editions say "(UK)" and EU editions say "(EU)" at the end. All other regions don't have location shown though.

I was a bit confused by this at first, but it's not like it makes a difference, really. Just seems a bit odd.

No, it is supposed to be like that. I'm in NZ and mine's the same.

This is because NZ, AUS and EUR (and many other places) all have the same type of TVs (PAL) and use the same PS store (if im not mistaken...)
