Move Support for LBP2?

Archive: 9 posts

What exactly is the Move Support for LBP2?

I got the game last night, and played around a bit in the story levels (going for more prize bubbles before I start in create mode);
But from what I could see, the only 'move support' was Sackboys Prehistoric Moves (which I've already got).

What's the official word on "Move Support"?

What can and can't we do with the Move controller in LBP2?

That's it. Sackboy's prehistoric moves is a Move demo with the game.

See:

for details on future move support. Expect to see things similar to SPM in create and also a Movinator (the latter is far more interesting IMO.

They even mentioned a probable release date for the Move stuff back in December: Around the seven minute mark (http://www.littlebigland.com/hiphopgamer-interviews-media-molecule-alex-and-john/)2011-01-21 14:00:00

"Around about march sometime"

Hmmm, a little dissapointed. I thought there would be much better move support right out of the box for this. I even went and bought a move controller last week in preperation

Now we're going to be expected to stump up another ?5 in a few months time in order to realise the potential that was promised on release?

It's a combination of things, lack of move support, lack of extras compared with the US CE, and general bugs with the game - plus I'd already seen most new features in the Beta.... but I'm feeling rather underwhelmed with LBP2 so far

Hopefully once I get stuck into create mode I'll revise my opinion again

SPM got mogę suport so they needed to add move labels in to it. But as said by previus posters, theres DLC coming, and target time is around march 20112011-01-21 14:24:00

Cant wait for the new addition. Didnt Prehistoric Moves come with the retail copy? You just go to extras and select it from there, right?2011-01-21 16:03:00

We were told all over the place that the move support was additional levels on the side of the main story, we were told that this was sackboys prehistoric moves. that is what was "promised". I'm pretty sure we even had confirmation that move support would be DLC, prior to release.

Same thing for the CE...

Complaining because the product you bought was "as described", is a little silly, don't you think

Did you expect them to make a whole new batch of features to release after the beta. If anything the reason your underwhelmed is becuase you played the beta. That's like going to a movie premier, then watching it on DVD and saying you're underwhelmed becuase you knew what would happen.

This is "me" we're talking about here!

I could complain about not having anything to complain about

But fact of the matter is, I was told LBP2 would have move support, when in fact, it does not. None at all right now.
It comes bundled with a stand alone demo that has move support - but that isn't LBP2, it's stand alone. Plus, I'd already bought and played Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves prior to release (making my CE even more worthless);
The fact they released the Move Demo before LBP2's release is also what made me assume that LBP2 would have move support. And the fact that the DLC will come out so soon after the games release just shows that this is something that they should have included on the disc, but were obviously rushing it.

Here's how the conversation went with my mate last night;
Me: "Just got LBP2 a day early!"
Mate: "Oh No, Does that mean another year of you never shutting up about it?!"
Me: "Cmon, lets play a game"
Mate: "It's Move Compatible isn't it? I'll play the Move controller, that Sackboy Move demo wasn't 'that' bad"
Me: "Cool... err.. errmmm... .how do you use Move in LBP2?"
Mate: "Is it just that Sackboy Move Demo again?! - That's a bit rubbish isn't it?"
Me: "........ yup"

So here I am with a Move controller (bought specifically in preperation for LBP2's release) - and I can't use it in LBP2!

The fact there's no Move support in the main game is a disappointment. Glitches like the BluePlanet in Pod glitch are disappointing. Not being able to play online (hangs when loading) is a disappointment. The CE was a disappointment.
If there was one word I would use to describe my experience with LBP2 so far it would be "disappointing".

& I *really* want to like it too
