Dead Space 2 yes or no?

Archive: 15 posts

After playing the demo, ive been in some kind of limbo lol about getting it or not. If you played the demo you would know that theres no big differen between the 1st one and 2nd one, of course 2nd one has better graphics, online and Scarier but well.

Idk just been thinking about it, I was wondering about hearing you guys opinion on the game.

Dead Space 2 is the kind of game I'd buy for the single player story, and assuming the single player is solid I'll plonk my money down for it.
Also dragon age 2 armour unlock so yes please mr dead space

I'm sure I'll be getting it, but not on release date. Dead Space 2 continues the story of Isaac Clarke, so that's something that makes me want it, to see how the unfortunate engineer, Isaac Clarke, turns out at the end.2011-01-23 22:04:00

I played the demo and didn't think it was worth it. I liked how the alien thingys didn't seem to be scripted and jumped up randomly and reacted differently depending on how they were shot, but I just couldn't get into it.2011-01-24 04:18:00

To be honest I'm getting it, but I don't think 60 dollars is worth it, maybe buy it used or wait a bit till the prices are lowered. The single player alone is worth it but Dead Space doesn't seem like a game for replay value, other then the multiplayer which doesn't seem all that good.

The first game had some good replay value for me at least.
First run: Went through like any other game I go through my first run on.
Second run: Went for the One Gun and Impossible mode trophies.
3rd Run: Stasis, Kinesis and Melee only. (Aside from parts where you HAVE TO use weapons)
4th run: Impossible mode playthrough using only the Obsidian RIG. (Armor is equal to the Level 3 RIG)
5th run: Impossible mode playthrough using only the Level 1 RIG, and 2 weapons. (Only 2 weapons so my small inventory space has to store ammunition for 2 guns, not 4. Level 1 RIG on Impossible to increase intensity, and to know how easily the crew of the USG Ishimura were killed.

Not sure if I'm gonna come up with another creative thing to do on a 6th run.

Dead Space 2 has more difficulty levels than Dead Space 1. If I remember correctly from the demo, there were 6 difficulty levels, but only normal was accessible.

That's not necessarily called replay value, you were creative with what to do to create replay value for yourself. What i mean is there isn't anything hidden on the map that you must find, and requires multiple runs to find. Like treasure chests lawl.

I almost went for this 'cos of the move stuff (Though I don't think that was for the main game).

But then I realised KZ3 was coming out soon, so I'm not gonna bother.

This game isn't scarier than the 1st one.

Same here, but now thinking it through, id rather wait for Marvel vs Capcom 3. cant wait for that.

I was playing it at a friends house... All I gotta say is; I liked the first one better.

I don't think I'm gonna buy it. I'll just go pre-order PORTAL 2 tomorrow!

If you have the move, getting it for the Playstation is even more worth it, as the Limited Edition comes with Dead Space Extraction, a game made for the Wii, but remade for the PS3 with the ability to use the move. It got great reviews when it came out, so you're pretty much getting two great games for one price.2011-01-27 05:14:00
