More Love for Media Molecule

I haven't many positive posts about LittleBigPlanet, mainly because people want to help out and post bugs that Mm missed. I'd like to dedicate a thread for positive feedback.

My Favorite things about LBP2

1. Power-ups
When I bought LBP2 I was thinking it was going to feel like an LBP1 Level-pack expansion. Boy was I wrong. It's been so fun playing with these power-ups, picking up friends and throwing them off a train...lmao that sounds so terrible, but it's so funny.

2. Controlling Robots
I saw this in the demo and in the videos. I think the idea is more genius than it appears to be. With LBP1 you were limited with getting your sackboy/sackgirl so far. Now with these bunnies, bees, puppies, and more, the possibilities have gone from endless to "There's so much I can do I just don't know where to begin."

3. Cutscenes
Although sometimes when repeating levels, the cutscenes can get pretty repetitive, this is still a great feature. When I played LBP1 it actually took me awhile to realize there was a storyline. Sure I could've and should've read the dialogue, but I was so anxious to play I sped past the comments the characters were saying. Now I can get a nice little cinematic that sparks my interest.

4. Costumes, costumes, and more costumes
I can never get tired of the costumes in this game and now that I have so many I can't decide which ones I want to use. I change them so often and can never choose a favorite. One of my favorite features of this game is once you unlock all the pieces of a costume, it saves as a costume, so you don't have to go in your overwhelming bag and try to match all the pieces together.

5. No more <34<3
Thank you so much for getting rid of the heart trophies. I could never get the platinum trophy all because of that 50 heart system. I honestly did not know how you guys expected a level to get seen in over 2 million other levels. Maybe there's a trick and I didn't know it, but I made many levels and just getting people to play it was a challenge.

6. Joy
The best part of the game is how often it makes me laugh and smile. The most popular games out today are hardcore competitive shooters that often lead to name-calling, swearing, and high-blood pressure....seriously sad. It's so refreshing being able to play games just as they were intended to be...fun and entertaining. If you've had a long, hard day at school or work or just had an experience that really got to you, you can always rely on LBP to make you feel better.

Nicely said! And I didn't know that bit about the costumes. That could also let you know if you're missing pieces in that set, narrowing down when you're trying to look for what you missed when you're trying to get 100% Collected.2011-01-20 21:42:00

I also love the new survival/timed challenges. I wasn't all that interested in the LBP1 ones, but these ones I'm addicted to.2011-01-21 23:32:00

I love some of the added features in create that were not generating a lot of heat before release.

Invisible layers at will is a life saver. Changing from output mode to input mode to get rid of all those redundant switches, being able to zoom with the poppit curser out, animations on the wires showing which direction they are flowing.

And the new logic, I'm in love. In a level I started in LBP 1 I am replacing all the old, cranky logic with the new sparkly stuff. It took a few days at least to do the logic in the first place. After a couple hours I am not only almost done, it's vastly improved. Still amazed at not seeing a hundred wires streaming into my level from above...while watching the temperature in my level slowly go down with each replacement.

And holo material...how I love thee. I now look at stuff I created earlier and automatically wonder if holo special effects are called for.

Exactly. The LBP2 story levels were just plain fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing most of them. Like Sivious said, the survival challenges and minigames were actually addictive this time around, as well.

I feel like LBP1 was a training course to be able to play LBP2. I actually struggled a lot on LBP1 when I first bought it. I couldn't imagine how I would be if I played LBP2 without ever playing LBP1. The game is kind of hard, but that's a good thing.

I love being able to play as the storyline characters. When I first saw Larry Da Vinci I thought "Wow that guy looks pretty awesome. I wish I could play as him." Wish came true.

Mm completely destroyed my expectations and added so much more than I would have ever expected.

i can't wait for the co-op bug to be fixed. I hope they can fix someone of the lag too >.> hardcore framerate issues for me.
