Creation Help

Archive: 6 posts

Hi all, first post (be gentle).

I was messing about in the creation mode. Decided to build myself a cardboard rocket. It works great, flies like a champ etc...

The problem I'm having is keeping the camera centered on the rocket. I can watch it take off but as soon as it leaves my viewing area it just gets lost. I've tried messing about with the cameras but can't seem to get anywhere with that.

Is there something I'm not doing correctly or can this just not be done? Simply put, I want the camera to follow the rocket.

Thanks!

Attach a Movie Camera to the rocket.

Attach a Movie Camera to the rocket.

I tried that but didn't have any luck with it. I'll keep messing about with it though.

I went in and changed some stuff and used the controlinator to keep the camera fixed on it. Though I was going for watching my sackboy pull the handle, get the rocket started and then watch it take off. Ah well.

Thanks for the help!

this can defo be done, have one movie camera set looking at sackboy then get the camera output and connect it to another movie camera thats on the rocket, theres something in the settings like a timer i think that you should do on the rockets camera so it will look at sackboy pull the lever and then watch the rocket fly off. i dont know the settings entirely as game not out here yet but im going some of vids i saw in beta ages ago. its pretty simple once you know the settings2011-01-19 23:48:00

It's simpler than that. Take the output from "on active" (I think it's called) from the controllinator and wire that to the camera.

It's the bottom output from where the PS3 button would be on the controller.

You can see an example about :46 seconds into this vid:

Thanks folks! Finally got it. For some reason the first time I put a camera on the rocket it didn't follow, just went right back to my sackboy. Started from scratch again and got it working. Don't know what I was doing wrong the first time but all is gravy now!2011-01-20 01:34:00
