Rogue Panda Rescue by Jackofcourse (TV ad level)

Archive: 40 posts

Hey guys and girls! Well, it's been a while since I got to start a thread in this section!

This level is one I made for the UK TV adverts that are just starting to be shown now.

The cheeky pandas have all escaped the zoo and Sackboy has been drafted in to help find them! Let's see how you all do!

Hope you enjoy!

Watching it right now on the live world record stream, they just started playing it as soon as you published! And literally 2 minutes ago I saw the advert on TV with it in too. Awesome!

I'll add it to my queue to play when hopefully the game arrives tomorrow.

Just found my first LittleBigPlanet 2 level to queue.

Looking forward to it!

This level was fun, but finding all the pandas is too hard. Maybe you could make it so that you can enter a cheat that gives you the high score.2011-01-20 02:24:00

Because actually working for a high score is just too much work?

But I'll check this level out as soon as I can, can't wait to see what you've done with LBP2!

Really high quality, polish level and definitely a challenge - well done. Love the way you incorporated the grappling hook - and those Pandas are d!#m cute! I have to get back to this one and explore further.2011-01-20 06:32:00

Glad you have all liked it so far

It's been Mm picked so everyone can find it easier! I'm looking forward to seeing how it does with the masses that will be playing the game in this opening week...

Sweet. This will be the 1st community level I play. Now I'll know where the bar is set at, and whether I can slack off or not

smmfh @ the sad faces already... i hate you LBP community urchins. I truly do.

All queued up. I will be determining my rating based on a comparison with "Shoot! Jump! Die?". If I end up with sweaty palms, happy face. Anything else...well....2011-01-20 17:16:00

haha you may be slightly disappointed then...it was made for the TV ad so the general gameplay is pretty friendly

However, no one yet has got all the pandas...so I think that's shows how hard that task is...you might have fun with that part

Could you at LEAST catch some of the Pandas on fire so they're more difficult to grab? 2011-01-20 17:40:00

I got 'em all after a bunch of retries, trying to ace it before finishing. I'm gonna go back sometime and try and nab #1 with the few point chains I think others will neglect to pull off, and ace it with 40.

Perfect level. Your best yet, even though you probably think you were doing some softcore commercial stuff. I'm glad I didn't even click on a community level til this. Playable to a T, replayable to a Z.

Appreciated, Ninja Glad you liked it!

Quite a few comments saying it's too hard...how do these people get on with the story mode?! Very interesting...

These are the same people who want mom to cut the crust off or they throw a tantrum, but don't even notice that the fries in their happy meal are stone cold & 5 hours old.2011-01-20 20:45:00

But can you complete the level?!

Some of the reviews are hilariously brilliant!

It also fascinates me that people comment saying 'it is broke and glitchy' because they can't work out what to do. I wonder if they attempt to use that excuse on the story levels...?

Also people saying it's broke because it needs grapple hooks at every checkpoint so they can get the pandas :&apos No my little friends, that's exactly the reason why the grapple hook isn't at every checkpoint, that would be too easy! Work out the proper way to get them!

Over 24,000 plays in 48 hours...crazy!

I just played this level. It was really fun and addictive. First try, I got 30 out of 40. Second try, found all forty. Third try found all 40 and got 38 out of 40. I know the two I missed. May play it again to try for a perfect 40. I do not understand the complaints, this is no harder than Mm's story levels.

On a side note -- right as you start where you convert the wall into a bouncy pad and platform so you can get the panda upstairs -- I noticed that the platform where the bouncy pad is on is loose. I bumped into and it moved. It did not fall. I don't know if you made it like that or if you forgot to glue it down. Just wanted to let you know that.

Overall, great job.

Thanks! I agree, it is no harder than the story mode. I think it's just a mental thing of knowing that the story mode is professional, whereas because this is a community level they can easily pass it off as my fault that they suck!

Yeah that should be glued down, I shall get on to it!

Sorry but in my opinion this level is boring. Can't understand why it's in the mm's favourites list. Just because there are few LBP2 levels out there right now?

There are SOOOOO many new possibilities with LBP2 but I still havn't seen a great LBP2 community level

No need to be sorry, although the reasons why you didn't like the level would be much more helpful to me than just saying 'this level is boring'. What exactly did you find it boring? What did you think it was lacking that you feel a good level needs?

Hi ,
I just find your level perfect and love to play and play again with my daughter , Pandas are so funny !
One thing really weird : we count 40 pandas ... and the finsih give us only 39/40 ???? How can we explain that ?

I recognize your LBP 1 style. You're a king in this domain : activation of hidden path, 2 players coop and great level design .... Please do another soon !

I made one level with the first LBP ... lot of hours ... but to be honest you have the "thing" of the great game creator ... I find in your job the same pleasure playing a good Nintendo games ( DKcountry or SMB ).

Thank you !

This is one of the first LBP2 levels I played and also one of the best.

VISUALS:
The "Islands" theme of this level looks amazing and well polished with material choices and corner edit.

SOUND:
The 'Infotain Me' music fits well in this level. Don't know why the pandas sounded like sackbots, but that's not a complaint.

GAMEPLAY:
The obstacles of this level are a blast and the search for the pandas are ingenious too.

OVERALL:
One of the first great LBP2 community levels I've played. A 'yeah' vote, a heart, and a positive review.

Only just seen these replies!

Thanks guys! Glad you all enjoyed it.

The amount of plays it has got has been crazy, but the feedback on here is far more important to me as I get to see what people think properly. Really appreciate it!

I enjoyed it very much.
Actually when i was playing it, it gave me a bit of inspiration (which very few levels do)
So i made my first LBP2 level with the same type of concept, exept mine was freeing sackbots from their prison.
Its got highly ranked thanks to you and giving me the idea.
Cheers pal.
Look forward to playing your other levels.

I remember playing this the day I got LBP2. One of my favourite LBP2 levels of all I've played so far, particularly because of how innovative the usage of Sackbots were and the excellent theme to the level. Loved the re-playability of it to try and catch all the pandas, and the whole aspect of catching pandas reminded me of Ape Escape in ways, just without all the fancy gadgets and whatnot though of course. Was definitely worth the MM Pick it received. 2011-02-16 16:12:00
