Sackbot Switching

Archive: 4 posts

First, I'll say I looked for this already and found nothing, so.. sorry for any duplicates but there you go.

Anyways, so how *do* you sackbot switch?
What I mean is, if your controlling a sackbot via a transmitting controllinator to a receiving one, how do you change the receiving one (and, presumably, all of its logic), to another receiving controllinator? I could think selectors to microchips that have the controllinator on them, but.. I really do not know a specific way. How would that make the original stop and the next one receive, for example? How would you stop all of the logic of the first one, and only activate the seconds? And say you wished to go back and forth, as well. How would you go about doing that?

I'll probably experiment with it and randomly discover it.. but I'd really *not* like to spend time doing that when I could be building a level using said logic, instead.

Ohh, and I just thought of something, how did Nuclearfish restart the sackbots in his Hogwarts tech demo Beta level?
Position them, I mean. For instance: When you were in one room and you went through a door into another, the sackbot you were controlling appeared at that door, on the other side. Then, if you went through *another* door into the original room, your sackbot would be standing in front of that one!
It truly was amazing and I'd love to know, though I know I probably will never.

Place each receiving Controlinator inside a microchip, and disable those you don't want to receive. I believe you can do the same thing by using the "Eject" input on the bottom of the Controlinator, but I'm not certain.

I see. Thanks for that.
I'd set it up where a selector would control the outputs activating the differing microchips, as in your explanation.
So, what your saying is that controllinators on microchips that are not activated do not have a signal? Interesting. That is interesting. How would the "Eject" button work? Activating it disables the receiver?

I believe so, but I'm not 100%.
